I honestly don't see what else there is for the NCAA to think about. They should have all of the facts by now. So apply the rules and precedents already!

They said today the clearinhouse has passed him and they just had to get clearance from the testing center. At least that's the way I understood it.

On the downside, Gerald Williams was also cleard at one point and we see how that's played out.

Would he start classes before he is cleared? The NCAA/testing center can't take away his scholarship. They can only say that he can't play.

Good point. I'm sure Coach is on top of all of this.

I'm not sure about that. I don't think he can enroll in school. Anyone know for sure?

If attends one class and is ruled ineligible he would have to set out one year. Same as what happened to Passely in UWM last season. He could go to Prep School this year and not have to sit next year.

Are you saying that if he takes a UT class and is ruled ineligible, he can't play anywhere this year? In other words, can he only play for a prep school if he takes no classes before he gets a ruling? I'm confused.

He's saying that if Ramar takes a course this year, and is ruled ineligible then he not only can't play THIS year, he'd have to sit next year. That's how I read it. Damn the NCAA all to hell.

Heard on the radio this morning that Ramar was cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse at least a month ago. The hold up is Slive in the conference office - he is deciding wether to let him into the conference or not.

That's how I read it too, but I figured his post meant something other than how it sounded, because sitting out for two years just for showing up for the first day of class seems a bit extreme, even for the NCAA.

What I meant was he could not attend a class at UT and then go to prep school if he is ruled ineligible. He would lose this year. If he does not attend a class and is ruled ineligible, he could still go prep and return next year. He is awaiting word from SEC, he has cleared NCAA.

Then I'm almost sure we'll know before Wednesday. Surely the SEC front office understands the weight of making a decision before classes start... surely.
