I am in no way a Fulmer hater & for certain i'm not a "bammer", "a tiger" and in no uncertain terms I'm NOT a "gator". But Fulmer is SOLELY responsible for allowing not only UT Fooball to become an average program over the last several years, but has directed our proud Orange Football Program to hit "rock bottom". All the while with warning flares shooting up from all directions, he done absolutely NOTHING. This to me is obviously his biggest fault & I'm not sure he has the leadership ability, the wits, the experience and the creative ability to bring our program to where we should be.

Enough of our NC run...close to a DECADE ago! UT's not done squat since & what's even more unbelievable is the Head Coach hasn't done a darn thing to improve his Staff. Oh I forgot he's managed to get some fairly nice pay raises for himself & his Staff. How could I forget.

Imagine how weak the Fulmer defense position would be if Clint Stoerner hadn't been afflicted with a temporary case of palsy.

Although I'm tossed into the category of a Fulmer-hater, I am not. I've just questioned why we were led down the dark path. This means, keep a close eye on Fulmer and what he does. I think that alone is what will save this program. If Fulmer feels heat, I think there is motivation to make sure that the ship is righted.

I know we get tired of rehashing the same arguments, but there is still a lot of frustration out there. Some like to vent. There are some extremes but on both sides. All in all, Fulmer dropped the ball. Now he's picked it up and is running with it (bad image). Hopefully he's running in the right direction.

I may continue to vent along with a few others but in no way does that mean I am a Bammer or disloyal to the Big Orange. I, like many others, just hold high standards and a lot of pride in this school and its athletic programs.

I think Freak hit on good points as well as OklaVol. At the same time I think most of the arguments on this come from the name calling. I've been guilty of it. Calling those disloyal is a great way to set some people off and down they all go. So 2345 many of us aren't trashing or disloyal, we're angry and venting. Some take longer than others. Some just continue after being provoked or insulted. Just either bear with it or ignore it.

i like most am not a fulmer hater, but at the same time he is to blame for most of the program's problems. if he does not challenge for the sec title this year he should be replaced with somebody who can. fulmer has ran the program down in my opinion in the last 5 years, by refusing to replace and make coaching changes. i gave fulmer praise from 93-01 because i believed he did a pretty fine job, but over the last 4 years he has been a terrible coach. fulmer has proven he is a great recruiter, but alot of the talent he gets they just don't develop. in my opinion a 6-5 record or maybe a 7-4 this year is inevitable. if that happens it shouldn't be up to hamilton to fire fulmer. if fulmer truely cares for the program as he says he does he should resign and go home. he's had a impressive run over his career, but in my opinion it is over.

Yes I did discuss it Fulmer and he said he would work like heck to get bettter, the defense is playing good enough to win, and they are 19 points away from having a really good year.

Yeah. That's what I thought. Brave enough to attack from a keyboard, but not brave enough to go to the source of your problem.

I blame myself. I should have never criticized our national treasure and sacred cow, Fulmer.

Football program is a joke. The press conference to announce the return of those juniors was a joke. A failed attempt to show unity. None of those losers were even a first day pick. T-Mac is gone now anyway...I wish PF would just dissappear until next fall and let me enjoy basketball. PF is so jealous of Bruce Pearl it's disgusting.

As if Fulmer would pull himself away from the Shoney's buffet long enough to take his call.

It is obvious that some folks have unreasonable expectations when it comes to how successful a team can be in the SEC year after year.

The days of buying players are over. No one can dominate every year.

There are years when 8 wins are a very good year.

Expectations and reality are two very inseparable entities.

why do we put up with our own fans always slandering our coach on a Vols board and let them get away with it? Didnt he make enough off season adjustments for you to be satisfied? He re hired Cutliffe who is an offensive master mind, our defense wont miss a beat again this year, ainge cant do anything but improve... And most importantly last year was a learning experince for all our players... Maybe we were just one year away from being a really good team... I think this year will be good for UT football fans. Can you please stop slandering our coach everytime you post though? It really gets stupid after awhile listening to everyone cut down on Fulmer and if you dont belive in him that much then go on a bama board and talk to them about how much fulmer sucks... At least there you will fine someone that will agree with you...

Typical sheep post Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Everyone who jumps on Phil for doing a lousy job is a Bammer.

Go away now. :bad:

You're right, EXCELLENT POST!!

I expect that your reality will be delusional re: Phil if we go 5-6 again. Would that surprise you? No, since you have stated you expect us to be in the hunt for an SEC championship.

Since I've already made a determination about you, i.e., you joined this site the day after Bama won the 05 game and have nothing good to say about UT, The Vols, or anything connected to the program, it doesn't take a lot of discernment to know that you are a Bama fan who gets his kicks from posting negative things on a Vol Board.

Most Boards have rules about constant negativity.

Now, unless you're really slow, you've probably picked up on the fact that I've completely ignored you for the few days that I've been back posting on the board.

So, in the event you are too slow to understand, I won't be responding to your constant negativity again.

Don't attempt to respond with your join date being a coincidence. Bama wins on Oct. 22 and you joined on Oct. 23. So, you might spin your story to convince others that your not a troll, but you'll find I'm not quite so easily fooled. I enjoy discussing the Vols and College Football with people who love both. You dont' qualify as either.

Enjoy this meal, because I don't feed the trolls.

The Stoener fumble was not a gift. It was caused by Billy Ratliff forcing the center into his foot which caused him to stumble and lose the ball. It's clear when you watch the tape. That play was as much a result of good defense as it was Stoener not securing the ball.

Billy Ratliff...the third Blues Brother. He was on a mission from God. The play was a miracle. The divine interviening in human affairs to make the impossible possible. It had nothing to do with the defense.

Or.... did cpf sell his soul......

If he did, there should have been something in there about future seasons. :)

Maybe you could check with one of the lawyers here. Isn't it amazing how many people who post on these boards are lawyers? ;)

Fulmer spoke to the Dallas Alumni group earlier this month and had an interesting Q&A session. He didn't avoid any questions, acknowleged mistakes, and even admitted that he still wasn't sure how the QB situation should have been handled, but that it should have been handled differently.
