How many tv viewers should we expect throughout the whole Olympics? (whole world, not just the United States) Sorry if this is a strange question, but I was wondering how many people actually watched the Olympics throughout the course of it, and if the viewers were as many as the world cup.

I assume you mean 4 billion people will tune in at some point, and the total amount of people that watch will be higher. I think I read somewhere that the total viewers including repeat viewers is around like 40 billion. Does that sound about right?

I'm not sure.

The world's total population is around 6.7 billion...and of that 6.7 billion, they estimate 4 billion will tune in, at some point, to the Olympics.

As far as the total number of views per viewer, I have no idea how they would project that.

What do the other 2.7 billion people do? I am going to assume they don't have TV's. :)

Yeah. Basically everyone that owns a TV watches. Africans hear about them when their athletes return.

proportional to their population, they have very few. Except South Africa and the other civilized countries there.
