If you don't have legit NFL talent or potential, do not play for fun. Your body will thank you 25 years from now. Trust me on this one.

I don't want to sound like a douche, but I honestly believe I could play on a D-1 team if I had played and trained the last few years. I'm not NFL caliber at all, but I honestly think I could play at the college level.

A lot of former players have said that would play again, even with the knowledge of how they turned out health-wise. I feel the same way. Track and Cross-Country killed my legs. I ran hard for 6 years doing at least 10 miles a day for most of the spring/fall semesters. I probably have terrible knees when I'm older. I know a guy who ran cross country 20 years ago in college and he can barely stand up for any length of time without his knees aching. But he said he'd do it again because he loves the sport.

Be prepared for a crappy quality of life when you should be enjoying it. I love football with a passion, but if I knew then what I know now I would have never played. If you can't get a full ride scholly or an NFL golden ticket, the damage is not worth the reward of a fleeting victory here and there. Just sayin LC, weigh it out carefully. Good luck.:salute:

I understand.

I'll probably get in touch with people on the coaching staff and see what I can do about training for a chance in the spring. It'll be hard since I don't have a lot of film of myself in highschool (I spent 2 years playing everywhere from wr to qb to de). Hopefully I can get the weight room and bulk up without losing speed.

Start practicing your kicking game! Punters never get smashed. Or long snapper! Or holder for place kicker. Sweet gigs!:birgits_giggle:

I kicked a bit for my middle school team. But I was replaced with a girl (she plays now for a d-1 soccer team).

I want to play safety or corner. Coaches loved putting me at de in high school. Def. not gonna play at the line of scrimmage in college.

I was in the top few recruits in a national top 20 camp and I still ended up at a small D2 school. You have to be NFL/NBA caliber to play D1. Way too many athletes out there to compete with. I'm still working to go D1.

I almost walk-on to play basketball at a school this year. Decided to go to UK and focus on academics. But I'm considering playing football next year as a walk-on somewhere.

I regret not being cereal in high school about sports :(

Don't take this the wrong way. Don't mean to offend. Really hesitated to mention, but for making whatever you said you made on the ACT, you don't be very smart, and you think we be stupid.

That's a good point.

I believe I would have had a chance for pros (not any kind of star but a bench players) in the sports if I had played in high school seriously. I have a lot of raw talent, not a lot of extreme athleticism. I see myself kinda like a Jimmer basketball-wise, and we saw how well he translated into the pros lol.

Football would be a long-shot for me. I'll probably look around and see if any schools interest me. UK would be a dream, but I doubt it.

ACT isn't a sign of intelligence. My gpa showed the real picture.

Random Thought about athletics.

I actually did fencing for a few years. My coach was the Egyptian national coach and is now the USA national coach. He said I had potential to be great but I quit cause it interfered with my schedule.

They have walk-on water boys?

Real talk if you think you can make it go for it. My biggest regret was not playing college ball, wasted talent=regret.

Fencing? Serial? Fencing...
