i would feel better about Miles being no. 1 had he beaten UGA in the SEC CG...but all said, they did hav a good year, despite all the stuff that happened...but they do have a bunch of talent, and the smartest thing Miles did all year was keep the coordinators....so there was a smooth transisiton for the players....
I would have ranked Spurrier #1, no body did more with less than he did....he beat UF for the first time and beat UT for the first time in Knoxville...both firsts for South Carolina, or at least, first time a very, very long time....
Weis, well, i'll say this. THat ND team played much, much better than anyone anticipated. Even with the schedule being what it was, you can't deny the development of that offensive team. all the skill people got, it seemed, instantly better than last year.
Meyer gets a lot of credit for beating his natural rivals, which will keep the hounds off him....beat FSU, UGA and TN in the same year, regardless of how good or bad those three are, and you're doing something, plus two of those teams won their conf....not too shabby. but he doesn't get credit for not changing the offensive scheme earlier in the season. It was so obvious that the offense was struggling with his system, and when you got C. Leak, the supposed golden arm of the SEC, you should tailor the scheme to your talent's ability...sounds familiar right?
for me, it would have been:
Spurrier
Miles
Weiss
Meyer
