I don't necessarily say this because Tennessee is 16th in their poll but the Collegiate Baseball poll has been "wanky" all season having South Carolina at #2 is kind of insane and Kentucky at 12th is simply unjustfiable.

Kentucky fans on Twitter (the 12-14 of them) are really hanging a lot on their #1 RPI. Their hot start in SEC is literally against the worst 2 teams and their out=of-conference schedule has 1 team that's a likely NCAA team (Elon) and possibly 2 if Wright State gets their act together.

Vanderbilt completed their Mississippi State championship. Not sure where all this offense was in early season games but they are crushing right now.

For all the handwringing folks when we lost to BC, they are ranked 14th now.

Boston College has been the best team we've played all season.
The Eagles lost a midweek game at a decent Northeastern (17-4) team on Tuesday
Beat Sacred Heart (11-9) in BC's first home game on Wednesdays
Then took 2/3 at home against NC State (17-7)

I know it's a complicated formula about how BC is not #1 in RPI and the mediocre UK team is can't be explained

That ACC Atlantic Division is VERY good (Wake, BC, and Louisville) Florida State is in last place and I think will miss their first NCAA tournament in 45 years.

top five almost looks like our conf schedule for the next month

Yep.
A lot like last season where we had Ole Miss and Vanderbilt back-to-back and I was just hoping we could be 3-3 in those games. 6-0 was beyond belief. Especially how bad we beat those two teams.

Again, I hope we can be 3-3 against LSU and Arkansas and 4-2 against Florida and Vanderbilt.

but even the back end of our schedule against Kentucky and South Carolina look a little stiffer this season. But both teams have benefited from soft schedules so I hope the SEC competition will soft them up before then

That was an incredible run. Of all the excitement from the last two years, the series with the Hogs in 2021 is still the most memorable for me. The entire series was settled by 1 run. That was as exciting as college baseball gets.

#10 feels about right. Iā€™ve always respected D1, BA and the Coaches Poll (in that order) the most. The others just seem to be all over the place IMO.

Anyway, if we ā€œtake care of businessā€ with our schedule the next 5 weeks, the polls will reflect that. If not, it will reflect that tooā€¦.

NCBWA completes the day.

I recall last season it took way too long for Miss. State to fall out of the polls. Ole Miss is getting that treatment this season as they remain ranked in 3 polls

Vols' Average ranking is #11 with the high being 9s in PG and Coaches and low being 16 in the Kentucky smoke and mirrors Collegiate Baseball poll

Kentucky should be ranked but 12 is "extreme" as they have ZERO quality wins
South Carolina is getting a lot play as well but they are undefeated in SEC with a solid series at home against Missouri who's pitchers kept falling over. Mizzou was really their first quality win as Clemson SUCKS
Vanderbilt would be ahead of Florida had they not struggled a bit in preconference
Florida- looking at there schedule, have 2 quality wins over Miami but have played 2 weak SEC teams in Alabama and Mississippi and actually lost a game at home to Alabama.

Kentucky's schedule as been very fortunate. They don't play a top-tier team until Mid April at LSU They don't play Arkansas. I believe they get mauled in back half of April and all the way to end of season

@ LSU
aTm
@Vanderbilt
SoCar
@ Tennessee
Florida

There only chance to win those home series is constant rain and further dimming of the lights.

We need Missouri not to fall apart but the injuries may be problematic

We should hope for .700 baseball after the next few SEC series (but expect to be .500 in SEC play)

Can't realistically expect a sweep of LSU

Just like their football team, starts off strong against nobody and wilts when the concert gets tough
