There are some real big movers this week. Which is rare this late in season.
LSU is already out of the D1 poll and I suspect they will be out of most of the polls.
Texas A&M is still moving up quickly but far slower in RPI
Arkansas was already lagging behind in RPI and have dropped this past week faster than they were rising in weeks before. They have fallen to 20 in RPI but remain at 7 in D1 rankings.
After being swept by Texas Tech, Oklahoma State has fallen from national seed level to hosting level. I'm not sure any Big12 team can get into top8 at this point.

Maryland is set as a possible host but they have to get their stadium situation together. I don't think the NCAA wants to play in a glorified city park

Also, for the first time since conference play has begun, The ACC is now the top ranked conference by RPI

1. ACC
2. SEC
3. Big 12
4. Pac-12
5. C-USA
6. Sun Belt
7. Missouri Valley
8. American Athletic
9. Big Ten
10. West Coast
11. Southern
12. Colonial

This is despite the highest ranked RPI team in ACC being #8 Miami and The Big12's highest is #36

Isn’t Virginia Tech in the ACC?

Ironically, our RPI # will take a hit next week win or lose as Mississippi State is outside top #100.
But, Belmont at #64 will slightly make up for it with one game.
Belmont is a good team. Winners of 4 in a row. 7 of last 8. 12 of 15.
The crushed Purdue in 3 games in late April.
They did lost 2of 3 at home to a good SEMO team.
2 Q1 wins against MTSU and Wofford

Florida hosts South Carolina next weekend and despite a relative high RPI, remain unranked in any poll thus far.

I suspect this is because they are just under .500 in SEC play. 2 wins will get them .500 and sweep will close their season at 16-14. I ton's see them getting into a host position without winning Hoover.

I'm not sure what PG is looking at ranking LSU and not Vanderbilt and LSU

Mississippi hosts Texas A&M. In the unlikely event the Rebels sweep, they too can get to 16-14. Florida and Miss. would be very strong 2 seeds playing against 13-16 seeded teams.

LSU (14-13) is at Vanderbilt (14-13) In the unlikely event LSU sweeps Vanderbilt, the Tigers could get back into hosting discussion. But they fell to #37 in RPI this weekend from 17. It would take a sweep and only a sweep to make LSU host. Vanderbilt can likely sew up a region host with series win. A team, with 13 SEC losses can't get to national seed

Which gets me to my next point. There are only 3 teams with 10 losses or fewer in SEC. I can possibly see 11 losses being a national seed but 12 and especially 13 is a huge stretch. Arkansas and Texas A&M can't lose their series this weekend and do anything but hope for a national seed. 2 wins leave them both at 11 losses.

In 2021, four SEC teams finished with 10 losses or fewer. All four were national seeds. Three other teams hosted first round. (SC as a #2 seed) SC had 14 loss, FL had 13 and Ole Miss had 12

In other words, it's highly possible -almost probable, that the SEC will have one national seed with teams like Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt hosting first round and going on road for supers. Which likely means, one of them would come to Knoxville.

I’m seeing where several schools are canceling their midweek games, to preserve their RPI.
Can we cancel the Mississippi st series?
😂

One of the shows Jethro and Uncle Jed went to the bank to see how much money they had. The bank was closed, and Jethro pulled out a piece of chalk from his shirt pocket and said; "Uncle Jed, should I go ta cipherin on the sidewalk."
I said that one time at work and one my co-workers busted out laughing. He had seen the show too.

That is hilarious. I couldn’t appreciate the humor when I watched it as a kid, should rewatch.

The one that always made me laugh is when Jethro thought he joined the Marines but really had a job at Marine Land an aquarium. He told Jed they have 8 feedings a day and they already were talking about putting him in a tank.
