who cares?? rankings schmankings........Nick Reviez was a 1 star out of high school, now he's pre-season all-SEC..... Chris Donald was a 5 star, rated #1 ILB in the country, but can't hold Nick's jock.....think about that.....:eek:lol:

Bill Gates didn't graduate from college Theodore John "Ted" Kaczynski graduated from Harvard. College smollege, you mine as well hire people with GEDs to run companies.

Im not concerned about the rankings until we get closer to signing day.....but its funny, we still don't have any ESPNU top 150 players

A lot of top 150 players on the board. We'll get a handful before the season is over.

Don't focus on stars, focus on getting the players you want. The rating agencies are way behind the curve this year in my opinion.

LSU is ranked 8th by scout so far this year, I don't give a rat's ass, it will be our best class ever.

If you get good players, the rating agencies will play catch up to match what you have.

There is some truth to that. The rankings will readjust themselves. As long as we are filling our needs then I am happy. We need some more DTs...I'll be happy when we get em.

And for you star gazers, I think Gates was a 3 star while Ted was a 5 star.

Jamie Newberg left Scout. I think that this has resulted in a slower than usual evaluation periodl

I think you mean Newberg left Rivals. And yeah it has definitely affected their rankings in the South. That said, these were still the initial rankings. They always change big-time from then until signing day.

Is Rivals going to replace him? I've always been a fan of their site but this year their rankings are just pitiful.

I dont know.

I think Rivals problems run very deep now.

I've always preferred Rivals over Scout, but ever since Yahoo acquired Rivals it seems like there has been a significant dropoff in coverage and journalism in general.

I know the Rivals network has become much more money hungry since Yahoo took over.

One of my friends ran Bearcatlair (Cincinnati Rivals site) and they ended up leaving the Rivals network a few months back to start their own site (now bearcatlair.com) because Rivals was not paying the guys who they were employing over there and all the while they were taking all the profits from the subscriptions.

I dont know why Newberg left but it wouldn't surprise me if it was for a similar reason (ie not getting paid or getting paid extremely late).
