For those of you that don't keep up with our class of 2014 recruits, 4* Rashaan Gaulden is having some kind of freakish beginning to his senior season. Everyone talks about TK2, Bates, Hurd... etc... but this kid is going to be a freak for our future.

Check out his stats that I put together using VQ through his first 5 games.

Rashaan Gaulden

6'1, 180

Independence High School, Nashville, TN

Week - 5 vs Ravenwood

3 catches 40 yds 1 td

12 tackles

Week - 4 vs Beech High

5 catches 57 yds 1 td

35 tackles

Week - 3 vs Summit High

2 catches 40 yds 1 td

9 tackles 1 int for td

Week - 2 vs Marshall County

4 catches 71 yds 1 td

13 tackles

Week - 1 vs Kenwood

5 catches 68 yds 1 td

19 tackles

THAT TOTALS 88 TACKLES IN 5 GAMES

unreal... not to mention he has a pick 6 and 19 receptions for 276 yards with 5 tds. That's almost 16 ypc

I know this is slightly off-topic, and I'm as excited about Gaulden as anyone, but Cam Sutton has been an absolute steal for us. Our secondary is gonna be nasty next year!

Kid is either a complete freak or the front 7 of the defense is a special kind of bad.

If I read right there was 52 plays run by Beech on O side of the ball Gaulden was in on 35 tackles and Vic Wharton had 7 tackles. 42 of the 52 plays the tackles were made by future Vols. They had 4 offensive tds so 6 tackles were made by other players lol.

I think a lot of it is just the fact that Beech is going to run the football come hell or high water. Teams are putting tons of guys in the box, but they don't care. They're running it anyway, so if you're willing to get up there as a DB and butt heads, you will have the opportunity to rack up some tackles. Glad to see Gaulden isn't afraid to do that.

He is in beast mode no doubt!

On Sunday morning, the following post was made from Kimbrow’s Twitter account (@I_GRIND_4_IT): “Have to find a home…. A better place for me!!!!!!!”

Another tweet was posted soon after: “You risk It all family, friends, coaches to give ppl a chance then the nxt two years of ur life u get (expletive) over guess what (expletive) y'all!!!!!” That tweet was later removed

Vic is on the same team. I heard the Ravenwood coach say they were both the top players in the state. Can't wait to see them in orange!

Gaulden and Wharton travel to Murfreesboro to take on Blackman, led by 2015 QB/Athlete Jauan Jennings who has been offered by a ton of people, UT included. Should be a great game.

GAVol is on his way to his tenth star... IMPRESSIVE my friend. Few have stuck around for that long and its badass. I started lurking in 08 but didn't start posting until 2012
