I would say you have a pitching staff chocked full of injuries this season and you better hope nothing happens with Tejada and the steroids issue. Your outfield isn't great, but not bad either. It will make or break your season. That being said, I was unable to take part in my live draft and your outfield is lightyears better than mine.

Start Eric Byrnes over Pat Burrell. Pitching staff is good, but there there is about a 99.9% chance that at least two of Harden, Sheets, and Lowe spend some time on the DL this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see at least two of Papelbon, Cordero and Weaver spending time on the DL either.

Do you really think Byrnes will be that good, or are you just expecting Burrell to be that bad? I love Byrnsie, but he is just incredibly inconsistent on both offense and defense.

i've been tinkering with my outfield and I need some of your guys help.

Can Carlos Lee have another .300 season with 30+ HRs? He's what 33 now?

Does Gary Sheffield have at least one more season in him? On a side note, can the Mitchell Report/steroid problems do anything to his playing time this season?

Is Jason Bay going to rebound from his abysmal 2007 season to put up decent numbers?

What about Pat Burrell? With the surrounding cast, I expected to see him have a good year, yet emain is telling klayne to start Eric Byrnes over him.

Last but not least, I know we have at least one Diamondback on board here. Would it be a good move to pick up Justin Upton or would it be one year to early? Note, this is not a keeper league. I like Upton, but I'm afraid I might just be sold on him since I lived in Hampton Roads for two years, his hometown.

we could only get 8 people to play in our league so that means there's going to be a huge FA/Wavier pool to pick from.

i think i faired alright for a guy who couldn't make the draft.

I think Byrnes will be fine, especially with some bats around him in that lineup. Arizona is going to have a decent lineup this year, Byrnes will benefit. That and Burrell is just not good. I can see Byrnes having a slightly better year than last, somewhere in the .290AVG 25 HR 45SB 90 RBI range.

25 hrs and 90 rbis from byrnsie? With my internship last year my baseball viewing was limited at best, but I can't fathom byrnsie having 25 and 90... 20 and 80 again? maybe...

He looked pretty good last year, and don't forget he his 26 the year before in less ABs. I may be way off, but there aren't a whole lot of players that work harder, I can see him have a great year.

This all hinges on him being healthy of course, history seems to show that the more he plays, the better he plays.

I like the Corey Patterson pick. Don't like Patterson as a player but he could put up some good numbers in GABP. If Felipe Lopez can put up the numbers he did in GABP Patterson could atleast match them and he will get you several steals.

i have 10 teams in my league...i know my outfield is thin...any suggestions....i could not participate in my draft either.......

im also thinking bout dropping Patterson and Molina for Ankiel and Pedro Feliz......good or bad move?

Ankiel is a huge question mark. Can he stay healthy, will more info surface on his HGH/steroid use and most importantly can he really keep those insane numbers up? I doubt it. Patterson isn't top notch, but he's a safe keeper.

so he needs to stop crashing into walls and making those very ungraceful dives? :)

My dad says Byrnes reminds him alot of young Fred Lynn, in the Boston days. He also says Lynn was a sure-fire HOF'er if he "didn't run headfirst into the wall all the damned time". Anyhow, 25/90 is a big reach for Byrnes, i think.
