People keep saying the refs didn't cost us the game due to the high number of fouls that were called against Ole Miss in the first half. This is only half the story. Ole Miss came out for a war and played extremely aggressively on defense for the whole game. They fouled and fouled and fouled for the entire 45 minutes. Unfortunately, after the first half and the huge disparity, the refs got tired of calling these fouls. I wrote that I was worried about this at halftime in the game thread. In fact, it seemed as if the refs were intent on "evening things up," calling more fouls on us in the second half. I think their desire to "atone" for the first half even extended to the blown call at the end: They anticipated calling things for Ole Miss. It was their mindset after they had crippled them with deserved foul calls in the first half. We could not overcome a team that was allowed to mug us every time we got into the paint without the refs blowing whistles. Unfortunately, in the second half, they stopped.

I like the fact that Lawson wouldn't let it go. Most commentators would have at that point in the game, but she made sure everyone knew he missed it.

Bad call had nothing to do with us not being able to shoot it last night. My goodness that zone ate us up. Ive never seen us have to take so many contested 3 pt shots. At no point did we have an answer for their defense, it sure wasnt the refs fault.

We didn't deserve to win, but this guy is still a sorry official.

We shot terrible, one call doesn't cost a game , However you must admit. We were only down by two and we would have had the ball on our side near the basket. It could have made a BIG difference. If, the biggest word in the English language

he English language[/QUOTE. It's game that's won or lost and measured in inches and seconds. One bad call DOES make a huge difference.

The ref missed the call bc it was a bang bang play.......I'm sure he would not have missed it if he got to watch the game in super slo-mo like the viewing audience did. We let ole miss dictate the game to us and that is why we lost.

While the out of bounds call was the final straw, the call that killed us was Maymon taking the charge and getting a double foul call. What the heck happened, they didn't give an explanation on that one. The way I see it, it is either a foul on Maymon or a charge on Ol Miss. How can it be both? Does anyone know what happened there? They called a charge then reviewed something and called one on Maymon as well. All they said we he was a secondary defender, heck most charges are by a secondary defender.

What game were you watching?? Good gosh, the refs sucked the entire game and basically made the game a FT shooting contest. WHen all you remember is the refs blowing the whistle 50 times for fouls, they did not do a good job. WHat gripes my azz is they can blow the freakin' whistle 50 times fo fouls, call a double foul when Maymon took a charge (what the heck was that call??) and miss a call right right in front of their face that possibly cost UT a chance at going to the Big Dance. I have seen a multitude of SEC games this season and bottom line is 75% of SEC refs just plain old suck!!
