Awww, man! I thought this was going to be a Marie Kondo thread!

Regardless, in 2021 we discarded first.
Last season we visualized our destination.
So now it's time to look at each player and ask, "Does this player spark joy?"

I'm hard pressed to find any player on our roster, in any room, who does not spark joy.

1. WR-Absolutely loaded
2. RB-Not as loaded as WR but still pretty stacked
3. QB-Present and future are in good hands
4. LB-Gone are the days of Colton Jumper type starting
5. DL-Depth has taken a hit but still a pretty good group
6. TE-With all the attention the WR’s will be getting these guys should eat
7. OL
8. Kicking game-Just because we really don’t know what we have at K yet
9. DB- They’re going to have to prove it to me that they are better

1. Wide Receivers A+
2. Running Backs A
3. Quarterbacks A
4. Linebackers B+
5. Defensive Line B+
6. Special Teams (K/P/Ret) B+
7. Offensive Line B
8. Tight End B-
9. Defensive Backs B-

4-7 are all flexible depending on if the kicker ends up being good, if mays is healthy, if we can replace BYs production.

Assuming Cooper is back by the time SEC season starts, our OLine will be very good. If Cooper is out longer, I still think we will be fine, but may take a step back from last year.

Looks about right. I was laughing at a Sat Down South article about 5 things they like/dislike about UT and the number one line was that the Oline should be better and a strength. Did the reporter do any actual research? It’s literally our biggest question coming into the year. I actually like the fact that the DLine is so low, when they could actually be a strength and have played so well in the off season. If they are the 7th best unit on the team, it bodes well for UT bc I think they are solid.

If offensive line and DBs are at the bottom of the list, then that could spell trouble. All the position groups are important, obviously,
and especially those two. If your DBs are suspect in today's game, then you're likely going to be giving up a lot of points to any and every team
with a decent passing attack. And a suspect OL will greatly hinder an offense. So not the units a coach would want to be most worried about. But of course it may not play out like this: We'll only know when we get into the meat of the schedule.

give a letter grade for each room

1. Wide Receivers= A+
2. Running Backs= A+
3. Quarterbacks= A+
4. Tight Ends= A
5. Linebackers= A
6. Kicking game= A
7. Defensive Line= A
8. Defensive Backs= A-
9. Offensive Line = A-

I think we can win 10 to 11 games and in the SEC all groups need to be your A teams. If, 1 group you would rate C may drop win total 8. 2 groups 7 wins and so on IMO. You got to be close to excellent in SEC. I actually think out Kicking could be A+ the Australian punter impresses me he's an older guy but has just 1 redshirt year with American football & the Indiana U kicker is originally from Tennessee and has a lot of experience put up good numbers at IU and was highly sought portal guy.

RB: A …. We are deep and Wright is going to break out this year

WR: A …. We can’t replace Hyatt, but we have enough depth and talent to be scary here

QB: B+ …. I am not completely sold on Milton. But I believe he has a high ceiling.

LB: B+ …. From what we have heard through fall camp, this group has veteran leadership and young talent

DL: B … We have some good talent and depth here particularly on the edge. Not completely sold on our interior yet.

Special Teams: ??? …. This one is TBD, though I think we have plenty of talent.

TE: B- …. Outside of Jacob Warren, I’m just not sure we have anything thats going to move the needle.

OL: B- …. This unit needs Cooper Mays healthy to perform at a high level as a whole. Rumblings internally are that OL is a concern.

Secondary: C+ …. I don’t have much faith in this group despite the huge amount of bodies we have. I don’t think Martinez is a very good coach in this defense if I’m being honest.

IMHO, that is a very fair assessment. Though unproven in Knoxville, I think the special teams will be a solid A-

That room is very well coached.

Man our offense is stacked! I think our defense gets an overblown bad rep bc our offense would score so quickly and frequently that they would be on the field ALL THE TIME. So ready for kickoff!

I agree with the secondary. However, I would bump them up to a solid B if Hadden agreed to stfu this year and let his play do the talking. Or at the very least, stfu!
