Could this be linked to an earlier firing?

Former Gamecock football recruiting boss ‘committed serious violations,’ documents say

"A former top-ranking South Carolina football recruiting staffer “committed serious violations of NCAA legislation” while working for the Gamecocks, according to a USC human resources email obtained by The State. Taylor Edwards worked as the football program’s director of player personnel from Jan. 25, 2021 to July 3, 2024. His job duties included overseeing the Gamecocks’ recruiting operation and serving as a liaison between the football program and South Carolina’s NIL collective, The Garnet Trust."

He's in his mid-60s, so he's at an age where it isn't unusual for people to retire. USCjr people love him for what he did as baseball coach but his track record at hiring coaches isn't good. He's hired 3 baseball coaches since he retired; two were awful and the third was Paul Mainieri, who wasn't a particularly popular choice but is his buddy (and Mainieri said Ray Tanner being the AD was the reason he took the job). Muschamp and Beamer didn't/haven't worked out. Paris might end up being a good MBB hire. He inherited Dawn Staley.

I also wonder if it could be related to this:

I’m hoping they don’t come after Chance Miller. He just left USC as associate AD to take the AD job at Coastal. Because of my job, he and I had lunch together a few weeks ago, and I really like him. I think he’ll do great things for CCU athletics. He’s a Tennessee grad - actually grew up in Gray and went to Boone. I went to Crockett, so it’s nice to have someone from “home” here on the coast.
