I posted this in another thread but what do you think about Hill and Watson being thunder and lightning?

I haven't seen a single post that argues we should sign a top 5 class every year. If you find one, let me know.

But we should be ahead of Vanderbilt and Penn State at the very least. Obviously, no one expects them to sign a top class this year, but if they can't make strides towards bringing in better athletes than the last staff, then they aren't showing me anything worth getting excited about.

The bottom line is, eventually (really, in the next year or two) this staff will have to sign classes that are the equal of the Floridas and Alabamas or they simply won't get the job done here.

Vandy and Penn St. Both had better seasons than us. It's going to take CBJ till next year maybe to get those kind of recruits. If we had one a lot of those close games we would be set. We didn't so now we have to get kids that WANT TO COME HERE. If we win next year the rest will fall into place.

Wow, really? You think recruiting just comes down to who had the better season? I guess you're probably confused as to why Boise State isn't stocked with top 10 classes, then...for the rest of us in the real world, we should realize that if your coaching staff (with a huge budget and top notch facilities) can't out recruit a program banned from real competition for the next several years or a program without an actual athletic department, who can't even fill a tiny stadium, then your coaching staff isn't getting the job done in any shape or manner.

Anyone can get the kids who want to come. You don't have to shell out high six figure salaries to manage that.

it is going to take time,UT is back to a new coach right before NSD,hopefully CBJ can pull in a few surprises this year, just remember most of these players have had a coach recruiting them for a few years,CBJ is starting over in Knoxville,so good luck to him and the Mighty Vols of Tennessee

Here's a novel concept let's wait until after these kids visit and then make our declarations...if the vibe and energy of the new staff doesn't reel them in this year I see a better word of mouth for future classes...or we could just give up...there's always that
