Thanks, Freak. There just can't be enough good things said about Pat. And, it goes much further and deeper than UT Sports. Pat has touched the lives of people around the world.

I second this. She has built a legacy that will live forever as part of all things UT.

I totally support her and hope she can manage the illness enough to stay on for as long as she has the desire to coach. She is the greatest. Truly a class act in every respect.

Some have said she is the most influential woman in womens basketball. I say there is a strong arguement that she is most influential woman to any female sport ever. It is a shame to see a brilliant mind begin to slip.

I was very saddened to hear the news earlier when receiving the text. I still do not know what to think. Very sad. My prayers and thoughts go out! Sad day for all of women's athletics!

I think it would be a nice gesture to Pat for Cuonzo to start Tyler Summitt for the Vols' first home game this season.

Sad news. She is the face of womens basketball and the most important person in UT sports, period.

I guess I always felt she might coach for another ten years or so because she was so indefatigable. I hope she can keep coaching, but I guess I'm just not so sure.

If there was a perception in recent times that she might be slipping from her own high standards, now we know what the reason might have been.

Father time eventually comes along for all of us in different guises.

They have six different articles on the front page of ESPN.com alone. I've not even bothered to go to other sports sites to see what they say, because I think I would be up all night reading them.

I like, most, have loved Pat. I admired her for years and years and for one thing never thought she would be taken down my anything or I could admire her more. Learning about this saddened me. What courage to come out nationally and admit such a diagnosis. I thought it was cancer and people rally behind you but this is different. No one is made fun of for having cancer but with our small minds we joke about this all the time, I included. I want Pat to know, if she reads these sites, we love her and will be behind her in every way. She is the torch bearer for many things and this is the by far the largest that can have the most impact on the most people. Thanks for letting me vent. Now, GO VOLS! :salute:
