we wind up with 4 16 team conferences? Wouldn't that be a great opportunity to detach from those idiots and form a body for the new conferences and let the NCAA have the scraps? Kind of starve the beast and watch them die slowly. I would like it and would absolutely love to see Bob Knight in charge of it..just so he can travel around the country and bash the NCAA constantly!

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I don't think we'll see four 16-team conferences like everybody keeps saying. I think the craziest realignment would be the Pac-16, the SEC and Big Ten going to either 14 or 16 each, and the Big East and ACC both having 12.

Either the Big East or ACC would have to fold into the other conference for us to end up with four 16-team leagues. I suppose people will expect the Big East to become basketball-only again. But, I think that if the Big 12 folds, the Big East will grab the leftovers after the other BCS leagues are done picking. If the Big East loses teams, then they'll just keep adding teams to compensate, like UCF.

I guess it's possible that the ACC will expand beyond 12. I just think that's quite an assumption right now. And, it wouldn't have to mean the death of the Big East.

If one division goes sixteen, then I say they all will to keep up. If it hasn't happened by 2020 then don't expect it to happen though.

But to the NCAA part... there's a good chance they will get the F.U. if they keep screwing up as badly as they do with things.

I just don't think every league will dilute itself to 16 members just because other leagues do. You have to increase the total pie of money to make it worth cutting it into more slices. What makes sense for the SEC may not make sense for the ACC.
