Any soccer fans here?
2 of the best players in the world, Christiano Ronaldo and Kaka, will be on the same team next year. This is akin to the Lakers buying LeBron James.

They will just go into another galatico session...buying the best attacking players and still having no defence outside of Casillas in goal and Ramos at RB.

Real will now lose money on Sneijder, Van Der Vaart and Hunterlar, i think they spent £60million on them and now you are probably looking at around £40mil in return (they are already intrested in selling VDV for half the price that they bought him last year).
Meanwhile, the glazers will probably keep atleast half the money that they got in this deal, they will be put of by the £50 million price tag on Benzema and the £80mil for Ribery, and so will settle for a worse player in Valencia and if they arent careful they will slip from 1st to 3rd in the premiership.

As for Real Madrids new found spending money, how brilliant that in a global recession and in the country with the highest unemployment in the west that Perez can find A BANK to bank-roll this spending spree...which will completly bust unless real get Beckham esc shirt sales from both of them.

No idea what's it's like in Europe, so maybe you can shed some light on this, are Ronaldo and Kaka as popular in Europe as good as they are players?

Well i don't know anyone who doesn't like Kaka, stand-up guy who has come through alot, as he was nearly paralysised in his teens. Great player and everything you look for in a typical Brazilian, skill flair and great oing forward

As for Ronaldo..i don't know a more hated person(atleast in Britain) however saying that im sure he has his fair share of supporters on mainland Europe as they don't care about diving.

England just hates him because he helped get Rooney tossed out of Germany 2006. That and the fact that he dives all the time.

Real is no more loaded than a few years ago when they had Brazil's Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Casillas, Beckham, Raul, and Michael Owen on the same roster. (I may be missing someone, too) They are European soccer's version of the Yankees.

but the most important player on the pitch will be Diarra, who doesn't compare to Makelele and so Real will be the same as when they sold Makelele, all the potential in the world going forward but no defense.
I don't even see them going past Barcalona.

As for Ronaldo, yes thats the british view, but the Euro 2008 debacle made him no friends anywhere...diving happens all over Europe, but what he did was seen as cheating or at the least a low blow by everyone.
