If you were the SEC commish and wanted to shake the divisions up by adding a few teams and kicking out a few (be realistic) what would your two SEC divisions consist off. Remember you can make it SEC North and South or keep it east and west. Here is mine but I think the east division would be hell!

SEC West Kick out MSU

Alabama
Arkansas
Auburn
LSU
Ole Miss
Southern Miss

SEC East Kick out Vandy and UK

Florida
Georgia
Georgia Tech
Memphis
South Carolina
Tennessee

Keep Miss St. and Kentucky. They have decent teams pop up every now and then. Vandy, however, cant say the same.

I dunno, see how Randy helps Rich Brooks! I will admit though with my realignment the SEC East is ridiculously tough

Vandy For Memphis is too even.

If you are gonna make the league better, you have to get much better teams.....

East:
Tennessee
Georgia
Florida
Clemson
South Carolina
Georgia Tech

West
Alabama
Auburn
LSU
Arkansas
Louisville
UAB

You say Memphis isn't good enough, but add UAB?!?! Those two teams are on par with each other if you ask me.

I say Tennessee goes to the Big East where we will get BCS bowl bids every year.

What?? kick out Vandy and Miss State?? 2 of the OLDEST SEC teams?

2 of the teams that actually used to be good and helped form the Southern Conference before the SEC??

Let's make a trade with the BIG EAST, we give them Florida and we take South Florida.:whistling:

Because of basketball, you don't want to drop Kentucky. I don't like 'em, but they are one of the most accomplished schools all-time when it comes to basketball.

I don't know who to drop - maybe just have another expansion, adding Memphis & Georgia Tech.

Memphis would probably love to get in on some of the SEC football money, and the SEC would gain a very good basketball team.

Georgia Tech would be a great add as well. They already have the rivalry with Georgia. Also, Georgia Tech is usually pretty solid in football, basketball, and baseball.

I would rather see the SEC divided north and south:

North

Kentucky
Vandy
UT
Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas

South

Miss
MSU
LSU
Florida
Ga
South Carolina

UT and Bama should have always been in the same division.

We probably had a good argument for Vandy until they beat us at home last year. Now they are forever a part of the SEC.

Deep down they should be as mentioned earlier, they are one of the oldest teams in the SEC and our games in Nashville might as well be an additional home game.

no way!!!....it hasn't happened, yet, but eventually, it will....TN vs. Bama in the SEC championship game....how awesome would that be? you'd never get that if we were in the same divison...

A more sensible question is whether the coutnry might ever be divided up into quadrants for a playoff system, like a Southeast, a Northeast, a Southwest, and a Northwest.

Imagine having to outplay the SEC every year AND get through the likes of Miami and FSU just to advance into a quarterfinal!! The Southeast would be ridiculously tough year in and year out whereas the Northwest would be a cakewalk.

I actually fear this kind of scenario is possible.

conferences will never allow that, for the very reasons you stated.

plus, what you'd really be talking about is re aligning in to 4 super conferences probably with 2-4 divisions each. and i don't ever see that happpening either, especially when you can't get ND to joing a conf. and the Pac 10 and Big 10 refuse to add teams to get a chamipionship game for their conferences.

And aside from that, the northwest division would have maybe, what... 7 teams? I mean, at best the northwest region is defined by most as Alaska, Washington, Oregon, northern California, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Lots of geographic area, very low average population density.
