If we are going to get a quality QB in 2009 who can contribute immediately, we are going to have to steal one. Here are the most feasible prospects.

Ryan Mossakowski, Kentucky
6-4, 201. 4 star, #9 QB

We steal a couple from Kentucky every year, this year should be no different. Plus, they have another quality QB in Morgan Newton committed to the class.

Tom Savage, Rutgers
6'4, 217. 4 star, #5 QB

No one dreams of playing football at Rutgers, no one. This kid is from Philly so CLK needs to sale him his dreams. Rutger's is 1/2 as cool as they were when he committed.

Zach Mettenberger, Georgia
6'4, 229, 4 star, #10 overall

They got Aaron Murray. Is not impossible if CLK makes it a priority.

Mettenberger isn't going anywhere. His mom works in the Administration Dept at UGA.
Savage & Massakowski i would think would listen if Kiffin came calling.

I would love to have Savage but Mettenberger would be a win/win..... Good for UT, bad for UGA, which is another good for UT!

Yeah you're right. Mettenberger says he is balls to the wall UGA and enrolling in less than a month.

Savage had a great time on his RU official this weekend, but is not enrolling early. May never hear a squeek regarding him, but CLK would be smart to give him a call. He had us up on the list intiallly.

what would the likeliness b for each of these guys grateful vol?

Wishful thinking.

95% of people would pick UT over RU but CPF couldn't sale it to Savage. Maybe if CLK tried it would work.

Mossakowski, again 95% of people would pick UT over UK especially considering the competition of UK and lack there of at UT.

Is it harder to sell early Pt to Qbs more so than other positions?

I don't think it's that, I just think it's the fact that our coach has only been here a week, while these guys have been recruited by the same person at a school they're committed too for a year at least.

True.
Kiffin just needs to add a few pieces to what we have. Next year will be his class, he is laying ground work now. And constructing a fence.:hi:

Do U agree? I think his hands are tied this year. He ain't got the time, or jet fuel to see enough to make a big difference.
What do U think?

It makes no sense to not give another scholly to a QB prospect this year. If Kiffin can find a tall kid with some raw talent I can see Kiff goin after him. I don't think Kiffin would be scared of a kid that may be a project, it would be a low risk/high reward situation.

Agree with the idea, if you have a guy that is able to contribute. Not sure how many we have a shot at in that category? That may be the wrong position on the team Qb that is, for a project. He has 3 of them now.

Scholarships shouldn't be wasted. If Kiff can't find a QB he thinks is worthy, he shouldn't give one out.

Theres gotta be a qb out there somewhere. I know being around high school sports here in Illinois, theres always one Qb that comes out of knowhere his senior year and ends up doing very well at some low division 1 school. Theres gotta be a kid kiffin knows about that has that type of talent that could potentially develop into a good UT quarterback.

Wow, that is impressive. I've never seen that done before :p

ditto, U can't hand out schollys trying to find a QB. WE got 3 here and 1 more on the way. We need DT's people. There are 2 of them on the field at all times.

According to Bryce Petty, Kiffin is still looking for another pro-style qb. I think he will go after Aaron Murray. What has he got to lose. It is almost a given that he will, since UGA has two 4 star qb's for next year. It would be nice if he could have the same effect on Murray as he did Eric Gordon. Below is Petty's quote.

Petty said he likes the idea of being the only quarterback in UT’s 2009 class.

“It’s actually really cool,” Petty said. “I think from what Coach Michael said (Kiffin is) still looking for another pro-style quarterback. Right now, it gives me confidence.”

Is Walls still a LB prospect? He's supposed to be getting pretty big. Could he be a DE/DT prospect?

DE but not DT. I think he is around 255. He said he wanted to get his weight back down so he could play LB, but he would play where ever he was needed.
