Nice, but it doesn't mean crap in basketball. Thats the great thing about b-ball, the games decide the champions, no polls or popularity contest ala college football.

True, but that tournament selection committee uses RPI prominently.

tournament committee love to use the rpi... we stay in the top 20 all year we can be a very high seed.. i dont see why we cant be a high seeded team really besides florida memphis and kentucky, who has a shot at beating us this year???

Well true, that there are some politics involved in the tournament committee, but 64, err 65, teams get a crack at the title rather than 2. I hope our players don't dwell on RPI, ranking, etc., and just keep playing their @$$e$ off.

Mmmmm..... I am having trouble slotting you anywhere in the Top 20 right now. I'd put you in the 25-30 range. No way are you number 9 just three behind Florida. That's my personal feeling.

because Florida has beat just so many good teams so far right??? oh wait they havent beat anyone..... so i dont have a problem putting them JUST three behind Florida. But you will find out there are not a joke come january 21st..

Vols RPI

Here is another link to a RPI website. It lists UT at 15 for the RPI and Power Rankings both. They will move up now though due to the win today. It should be updated by tomorrow morning....

Yeah, beating Wake Forest and Syracuse on successive nights, that was pretty bad. Beat FSU (who just beat Maryland) plus Miami and now blew out Georgia by 18 on the road. Yeah, Gators are a paper tiger.

I believe that right now you are a tournament team. I just don't think you are in the Top Ten, that's all. Haven't seen Tenn play probably as much as you have seen them, but its just my opinion that if I'm doing the bracket tonight you are a six seed. If it matters, I'd put Florida at around a three seed even though as of tomorrow they are likely to officially be ranked in the top four in the polls.

Do you disagree with Tennesee as a six seed in your own imaginary bracket? And I mean as of tonight.

well i say tennessee is a 7th or 8th seed. and florida a two seed. but thats just me...

I don't care if we're stuck in the #64 vs #65 game in the first round . . . If we make the tournament with these guys, Bruce Pearl ought to run for Governor.

From your lips to God's ears. Then again, seems like being a #2 seed gives you a 25 % chance of first round bounce out!!

I reserve all 8 seeds and at least half of 7 seeds for weak conference winners. I think you are right around #25 in the country, ergo I put you at a 6. But as I say, I'm not as familiar with your team as you guys are so who knows?

I will say that I am very surprised at the Gators' record at this point. To be 14-0 is just way past what I think everyone expected with the departures of David Lee, Roberson, and Walsh. I've watched this team a bit and they are totally selfless. I cannot ever remember seeing a team that passes the ball this well or that is so fast and in sync in transition. They are something else. Hope they can keep it up.

If that's what makes a good team, put the Vols on your list... just like UF we have 2 guys in the top 10 in the conference for assists/game.

Bragging about beating seriously weak Wake and Syracuse squads, a mediocre, at best, FSU team......and the Georgia bulldogs?

Lawgator, you're almost as dellusional as a BAMMER.

Don't get me wrong, those are good wins, and I think Florida has a great team this year, but c'mon....
