That was an extremely tough loss, but there were some very good reasons for liking that game.

  1. The team clearly showed improvement... both offense and defense.
  2. Good adjustments were made at half-time.
  3. Palardy is now a big advantage for this team (deep kickoffs, solid on FG's and XP's, and fantastics punts). There should be no more Palardy jokes.
  4. Courageous calls by the coaches and great execution by the team on some key 4th down plays.
  5. Neal had a very respectable game (28 carries for 145 yards, and 5 catches for 19 yards). Time for some fans to cut him some slack.
  6. Worley also had a good game (17/31 for 238 yards vs Murray's 19/37 for 197 yards). How about showing him a little support!
  7. Zero turnovers during the game.
  8. The team DID NOT QUIT.
  9. And most important... there were a lot of young players demonstrating some big time talent today. Hat's off to Pig, JRM, North, Croom, and others.

The future is looking much brighter.

A big amen! I have not been this proud in 4 years. Butch showed me today why I believe in him! Yes, it sucks to loose but I feel like our team is growing up right in front of us! Go Vols!

Proud of us today. Defense still showing great improvement from last year, and I think our offense really grew up and opened up today.

Shoutout to Cam Sutton, Corey Vereen, JRM, North, and Croom today, too!

Don't forget Pig. Pig was a beast today and made some huge plays.

The next big improvement will be Worley keeping the ball more often on the read option. He has a clear 5 - 10 yard gain if he'll do this a little more often.

Palardy played like, dare I say it, a COLQUITT today: 6 punts for a 51.2 average, while Georgia netted -2 yards in punt returns.
