Rece Davis Replacing Chris Fowler On Gameday

I rarely watch Gameday anymore but the 3-4 times a year I do just got a little more enjoyable.

I never found Fowler's remarks to be anywhere near as offensive as the Vol faithful makes them out to be. I think Corso is worthless as an analyst(but the elevator commercial was absolutely fantastic), but Herbie has always been solid and Fowler always did a good job of anchoring the broadcast. I like Davis for basketball, but he seems more interested in making sure his voice is heard. I also think his delivery drastically differs from Fowler.

Ready for the onslaught of Fowler haters to bash me.

Good. Now, Corso needs to be gone, with Pollack getting the full-time nod. Desmond is pretty good and Herbstreit is ESPN's golden boy. They need to hang on to him at whatever cost.

Pollack? Seriously. I've been watching the show since 1990 with Brando and he's the last guy I'd want. Before the stroke, Corso was sharp. When all three would call the Thursday night games in the late 90s they were the most entertaining broadcast crew on TV. Now Corso is slow and needs support at times, but he has done so much for taking CFB out of the stone ages (Think Beano Cook/Notre Dame/Ron Powlus 4 Heisman *3) that he deserves to go out on his own terms.

Pollack is a good and fair analyst. I know Vol fans don't like him because "HE WENT TO UGA AND HATES THE VAWLS," but he is a vast improvement over Corso at the present.

Unfortunately, Corso's health has vastly affected his performance on the show, and it's hard to watch him at times.

Pollack is one of the better ones I think. Fowler is al right, and Corso needs to go. He is starting to reach Granny Holtz level bad.

It should be noted that Fowler wrote a letter of apology for his "trailer park frenzy" comment to the KNS and said that he did vote for Peyton Manning for the Heisman. I also think Fowler is pretty good as a host.

I think that Gameday trends younger so they wanted to make the change for demo reasons..Fowler will be focused more on the NFL games

The same Pollack who on gameday back in 2013 said UT could never get back to the top of the SEC?

I feel like Pollack is one of the dumbest analysts they have right now. If we're giving credit to someone who played for a rival team, give it to Jesse Palmer.

Fowler knows Gameday will be in Knoxville a lot in the future. He wants no part of that!

He's still doing Saturday night prime time games with Herbstreit as his primary gig.

Agree with this completely. Spot on. Non issue that blew way outta proportion.

Fowler was actually right. Should he have said it? Probably not. But that doesn't make it any less true.
