My theory w/ the recievers is that most of them would be "the man" anywhere else. I think they can't develop into a rythm. I know it sounds kind of cliche, but what is everybody else's opinion?

IMO they were thinking about where they were gonna run after the catch before they caught the ball thus the dropped passes, other than too many stone hands (I thought leonard Scott was back on the roster for a while there) I thought they looked good.

I think we should be using 4 or even 5 wide receiver formations every play. They are that good. I know they dropped a lot of passes Saturday, I think that was very uncharacteristic and wont be the norm.

How many teams have enough depth at DB to cover 4 or 5 wide receivers?

..obviously there's a ton of talent there. i think meachem will have a break out year....if he can stay healthy. the guy has so much ability yet to be revealed. hannon, fayton and smith, imo, would be #1's on most teams. if we could just put everything together, NOBODY in the country could cover our guys.

I agree that most of them would be "the man" anywhere else...But I think the reason we had dropped passes is because they were thinking about where they were gonna go and not about catching the ball...They were trying to make a big play every play, which isn't a bad thing but they need to catch the ball first.

Lets just hope they got the worst of it behind them against UAB. They will need to step it up a notch in the Sewage. Im sure Anderson was ticked off a bit playing hot potato and dropping another.
Perhaps CRS will open the flood gates and then open up the running game.

As I've said plenty of times......this offense should average at least 30 a game.

Toss in a kid named Lucas Taylor, And it just gets that much more Ridiculous! Who ever mentioned Scott? That kid could flat out fly though.

I don't know if I'd say we have receivers that would all be "the man" anywhere else... Maybe Meachem. But at least we are among the deepest in that position in the country, us and USC. How many other teams could spread 5 WR's on the field and STILL make the other team have to cover everyone just the same? I just wish our coaches would actually try something like this. But, I'd rather we switch between Aces and I's while rotating WR's.

I think that was exactly what happened.

I don't think we'll see many more drops this year.

I remember hoping that after watching the Live Practice on ESPN a couple of weeks ago. If I recall, Phil yelled: "I don't want to see another ball on the ground!"

Foreshadowing???
