I knew we would be dealing with a real drop off from last year, but other than North, we literally have ZERO other down filed options. Pig is great, but is really more of a space specialty player. All the others rarely get open and then drop the damn ball when they do. Croom has been a huge disappointment.

What's up with Paul Harris & Ryan Jenkins? Why are they not seeing the field?

Those guys definitely hurt us today, they have to step up or they will be recruited over by next fall.

I think Ryan Jenkins is out for the season with some injury

And Josh Smith added to his team leading dropped passes total.... so there's that.

I actually thought that other than alligator arming that first pass that Croom made a nice play with a catch and a little yac afterwards. Gotta do more though.

North on the other hand. We have us a stud. Now he needs help.

North could play for anybody. The rest, I'm not so sure. Pig and Croom have their moments, but just not enough consistency from the whole group.

Smith needs to see the bench and Croom needs to be on the field, but even he short armed a deep ball. But Smith is awful.

I think the answer to our Receiving corp issue lies somewhere in this question: "What the hell happened to Drae Bowles?"

Great question. Drae looks the part, but must be really lacking to not see the field against these guys.

I think North is our star guy who can pretty much do it all, Pig is our short/mid range guy that can potentially break a big play, and Croom is our mid range/red zone guy. Aside from that, we have a mixed bag of inconsistency (Johnson/Blanc/Carter/Smith/DY) and guys who can't get on the field for some reason (Harris/Bowles/Jenkins). We have bodies, and we have to do our best to utilize em for the rest of the season.

And people wonder why we are recruiting so many receivers...

Josh Smith is soft as cotton and doesn't like contact. I mean all you have to do is tap is shoulder pads and he drops the ball. Croom is coming along. Josh Smith is the most frustrating because he has great route running ability just can't catch.

Croom has looked fine the entire season. Some of our slot guys like blanc and smith need some work. Other than that this is the only game I can recall where our receiving corps has looked subpar.

We need a homerun guy. Somebody that can take a catch for 5 yards and turn it into a 50 yard TD. I've not seen that from anyone yet. North is awesome and can stretch the field to an extent, but we need that threat to really open up the field and help all our receivers and QB.

Croom is coming along... Expect big things next year and expect him to continually improve this year. He is a freshman still. Dude will have a good career when it is all said and done
