6 regular season games to go. What would you expect? What would you be happy with? I say 4 and 2 would be very good, however it happens. 3 and 3 would be ok but disappointing depending on who we beat and how we lost. 4 and 2 may get us on the 4 seed line with a SEC semifinal, or possibly more with a better tourney run (probably need to go 5 and 1 to even have a chance at a 3 seed but who knows).

With the schedule we have coming up, I think 4-2 would get us to the 3 seed line if we don’t flunk out in the SECT. That would put us at 22-8 with a likely win over with UK or Auburn. The only way I don’t see us getting to that 3 seed line is if all the teams slotted ahead of us rn keep winning.

I personally think 3-3 with a win the SECT should get us the 4 seed. (I think if we shoot well in the SECT we can beat anybody) but at 22-10 with our NET and SOC we should be nothing less than a 4 seed.
Knowing the committee they will put us as a 5 with an awful first round match up once again

3-3 should be the floor, anything better than that would be great.

3-3 essentially guarantees a Top 4 seed in SECT, 4-2 would have us in play for 3 seed.

Agree. I’ll take 4-2, then win at least one in the SECT. That should mean a 3-seed. I just really want one of those 4 wins to be tonight. I don’t see Tennessee winning in Bud Walton. Of course, if Tennessee wins tonight, we can start dreaming of a 5-1 finish because that would just mean holding serve at home and beating Missouri and Georgia on the road.

We are already comfortably on the 4-seed line. 4-2 pushes us closer to a 3, especially if it means we beat UGA and Mizzou to avoid any bad losses for the entire season, and we beat Arky at home and steal one from UK, Auburn, or at Arky.

I am only worried about them going 1-0 after tonight, I hope we get some serious payback on them for the buttwhipping they put on the Vols in Lexington. Also, in that game, I believe KY didn't have a foul called on them till the 12 minute mark in the 2nd half. Hope the rupperees stay home

At least 4-2. If we can't beat Kentucky and/or Auburn at home why even be concerned with the tournament? You like our chances better on a neutral court? Nope, it's put up or shut up time. The self appointed experts on here are saying 3-3 should be our floor. They're conceding the home games against Kentucky and Auburn. I don't, we should win at least one of those.

Well, since we play 4 of our last 6 games against the 3 best teams in the SEC, and the 2 "gimmies" are on the road, I wouldn't be disappointed with 3-3.

Doesn't calling out self-appointed experts while overriding their opinion with your own as the "real truth" make you a self-appointed expert?

Well you’re talking about Auburn & Kentucky which are likely 1 or 2 seeds…you can literally make the Sweet 16 without playing either of those level teams, are you saying there’s no point in playing in the NCAAT if you’re just making the S16?

Saying we “should” beat Auburn or Kentucky is bit over the top. We “could” win those games. It’s more likely that Kentucky and Auburn should beat us. They’re both top 5 teams. So expecting to beat them is laying a bit of unfair expectations on our squad. We are certainly capable of beating them tho. And I’ll say that both game Should be closely contested games.

4 and 2 would be a solid fnish - 3 and 3 would hopefully keep the Vols at a 5 seed hopefully.

Those are 2 of the 4 best teams in America. You don't have to beat top 4 teams in America until at least the Elite 8 if you get a 3 seed. So yes, go 4-2, win a game or two in the SECT, and get a 3 seed, that's setting yourself up well.

Depends on who you beat in that stretch. 3-3 with wins over Auburn, Kentucky, and Arkansas is much more impressive than 4-2 with the two losses being to Auburn and Kentucky, IMHO.

Whaaaat?

Wins: Auburn, Kentucky, Arkansas
Losses: Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri

Is more impressive than:

Wins: Arkansas, @Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri
Losses: Kentucky, Auburn

????

I think we have a 55% shot at 4-2 and a 75% shot at 3-3. With Ky, Aub and Ark (2), we have a chance to make some real positive impact in the polls.
