Recording tv shows

Does anyone know how to record tv shows without cable or one of the streaming channels (YouTube tv/Hulu)? Like recording over the air shows. Heard of TiVo but haven't looked into it yet. Any info is appreciated!!

Look into getting something like this..

I have the 2nd one but haven't used it in over a year. I found it worked best keeping a usb drive in it to record onto.
