I don't post in this forum often, much less start threads, but I didn't see a place for this and I'd like to hear your thoughts.

We usually have the largest recruiting budget in the country and the reasons for this are pretty well established. My questions are of a different nature.

1. With such a large influx of money in our league, everyone is spending more on every aspect of the program. Will we continue to have the largest recruiting budget in the conference?

2. Pruitt negotiated for a very large budget for his staff. He has already shown that he's going to get a top notch recruiting staff. In many ways, those monies (from salaries) significantly contribute to the recruiting effort, but they do not count towards the recruiting budget. Does the addition of dollars towards salaries shift the allocation of dollars away from the recruiting budget?

Discuss! Please add and discuss other, related questions/issues etc.

depends on what a school wants to allocate for recruiting...some allocate more than others...IMHO the money saved from not hiring NO will compensate the entire staff and recruiting...:)

Last time I checked, UT's recruiting budget was the largest in all of college football.

I think Butch was getting nickel and dimed at the end because of underwhelming performance (my theory for the Canales hire and the OC promotion). While it looks like CJP is getting a lot of money, it’s just the cost of business. And with Fulmer in charge he won’t choke the most money-making goose for all its golden eggs.
