Recruiting budgets.

Wish we did. Recruiting budget directly equates to amount of blue chips signed, which obviously is all it takes to make the playoffs every year.
"The SEC also puts several teams at the top, including Texas A&M at No. 2 at $2.98 million and Tennessee is No. 3 at $2.92 million, followed by Texas at $2.44 million and Alabama at $2.32 million. "

I guess it depends on where the money is being spent. Clearly uga is spending well as is bama. TAMU on the other hand is not getting much ROI. As a side note, texas spent just under 2 mil with 600k of that spent on Arch.

Well, let's see. Fleet of Ford Explorers to tote around recruits is an obvious line item.

We’ve been one of the leaders in recruiting budget for at least a decade now. Not sure where you’re getting this idea
We spent $1.58m less than UGA. The ROI they’re getting with that extra $1.58 is astronomically better than what we’re getting

It’s not the 1.58m that’s made the difference. Depending on the year you look at you’ll see us first

It's actually been longer than a decade. During the Fulmer years we led the nation in recruiting budget consistently and the reason was always that we didn't have as many in state recruits so we had to spend more going to see them and bringing them to Knoxville.

Will the death/injury lawsuit be paid for out of recruiting budget or general education fund?

Glad we don't burn through money like them. Guess you gotta pay a lot to cover up the cheating.
I’ve heard this several times, that GA is cheating. Are they? And if so, how? I’m not being a smart ass, I’d honestly like to know. At the moment spending more money on recruiting budget isn’t cheating. Do you think think things would be better if there were a cap on recruiting budgets? Seems like this would hurt TN as much as GA. I mean honestly, it’s not like TN has to take a back seat to anyone as far as money spent. TN could probably outspend GA easily if they really wanted to.

Everyone is cheating honestly, even if they don’t want to most of the time some alumni are going to push the envelope. Nil has legalized spending on athletics and that kind of cuts the legs out from some programs for the long run. Georgia and Tennessee are fortunate that they have some fairly heavy money behind their programs. The “cheating” advantage will be cut down at some other prominent programs as well over the next decade.

It is the recruiting machine that has been built and operated, not only the budget financing said machine.
Nailed it. It’s not about just the money. Tennessee has always been around the top in money spent. The people doing the recruiting matter more than just the raw money. Of course if you don’t spend to a degree you’re also going to see some trouble as well though.
