This incident with Nuke, Edwards, and Janzen is definitely a recruiting buzz-kill. Every recruit's parents are going to hear about this, and justified or not, it will affect their opinions of the University of Tennessee. That's just the nature of the beast.

Kiffin & Co. have their work cut out for them...

I agree with most of the other posters here that say CLK needs to act quickly. BUT.....he needs to thoroughly investigate this and not make any knee jerk reactions before he knows for sure what happened.

This stuff happens everywhere. Not the coaches fault, they can't keep them locked in a cell during the night. What this will do for recruiting is make the staff look long and hard at the background of some of these players. Nuke is going to go down as one of the all time recruiting busts for the Vols....

I think the responsibility rests solely on Phillip Fulmer. Case closed.

I would issue an immediate statement that if this is true all those players are gone and this will not be tolerated at UT. Some damage will be done regardless as far as public perception but it makes the staff and university look better if we don't drag our feet. This is gonna hurt no matter what we do though I believe.

Why all the consternation? Kiffin has once again gotten everyone talking about Tennessee. You all should be thrilled.

Kiffin didn't have anything to do with this, but its nice that you can overcome your mental condition just enough to troll a message board.

Saw this posted on another site. Don't freak out...

Since Urban has been hired, the Gators have had 24 arrests, including 9 felonies.

In that same period of time, Georgia has had 30 arrests with 4 felonies.

Don't know the numbers for Bama but they had a guy busted for armed robbery Saban's first year and Jimmy John's was slanging coke out of the football facility.

It will only hurt your recruiting based on how CLK handles it, the press reports it, and how other programs use it.

J Johns didn't hurt because UA quickly dismissed him from the program. Just like J Elder in Feb 08 got arrested for armed robbery of 2 UA students with a pellet gun, sound familar. Quickly take them out of the program.

The difference here is that CLK has made it a priority to be in the news for the school. The press is all over him whether it is good or bad about everything. I am not saying he merits the attention they always give him, but ESPN will make it worse then what it actually is.

ESPN=Everyday Sports Paparazzi Network

Several programs fighting UT in recruits will use it as a negative tool against UT.

CLK and UT must quickly react and the program will not look as bad. Add that to a winning season and a bowl game it will be forgot about.

so let me get this straight, if a player does good things on and off the field its because the coach is running a clean program and gets all the credit and praise.

but when they get in trouble its the players fault only.

can u guys be any more blinded by the moron of a coach yall have.

here come the sayin that ur coach is writing checks that his players cant cash.

try to talk ur self out of this all u want, but it doesn't change the fact.

Just had a piece on First Take with Resh and Low. This is JJ's 3rd time. Low said he was suspended during the Spring and made to run as punishment, he failed a drug test, the bar incident last week now this. I know we all want JJ to stay but he's definitely gone. He's had more chances then anyone.
