It worked for our last 3 losses. I'm pretty sure all 3 coaches made specific speeches to their fans about it. I KNOW Kirby and Napier did.

I mean hell, he knocked the TAMU LB out of the game from running him over. That changed the game imo

I wish our offensive staff would sit Joe down and show him that play over and over and say “Joe, if you will just do this a couple of times against Bama, we will win”.

The main tactics have been, in order of importance: (1) committing defensive holding and pass interference on every down, relying on the Birmingham office's officials not to call it; (2) using stadium sound systems to pump artificial crowd noise (and not unlikely certain frequencies that disrupt speech) on to the field, which should be illegal.

That's all I could think of when I watched this. Has Saban always done that?

Yes. But because he is a "golden child," who has always been permitted to cheat with impunity and been celebrated by the media, no one ever remarks on it. And they edit it out of printed comments and clip it out of a lot of videos.

Saban was saying "aight" every five seconds when he was ranting that Jimbo was allowed to legally pay players, which was an SEC violation, but Sankey did not penalize and sanction his boss Saban. And I heard "aight" repeatedly last year when Saban was making excuses for getting outcoached by Heupel after our game.

Corn-pone was trying to sound like Saban. Or maybe everyone there unconsciously imitates him.

He also doesn’t have the same QB. If Hooker was our QB, Squirrel would be having a JH type season. Nimrod has played in multiple games. And he is getting open, Joe isn’t throwing it. Sorry that hurts your feelings.

The receivers look bad because the QB is bad. Amazing how “bad” our receivers were when Milton started years ago and then we’re amazing when Hooker took over. It will be the same when Nico takes over.

This is simplistic and mostly wrong. Milton is not Hooker but he is not the biggest difference from last year. Our biggest problem to this point has been the o-line, receivers, and penalties/no-calls. Cade has helped with the o-line issues the receivers have yet to be resolved. We lost two fast and physical receivers. Bru was physical not fast and he's gone. Squirrel is fast not physical. Keyton is not real fast or real physical, a possession type receiver. Thorton could be but has not stepped up to this point.
The penalties need to be fixed, the no-calls probably won't be fixed.

You said we have no one that could get by defenders and get real open like him. I think Squirrel and Nimrod are doing just fine getting open. Ramel is a different story and he is in a slump.

Here's hoping Bama is the slump-buster game for Ramel. I think all the PI no-calls got to his head. Nimrod has a TD stolen from him last week, too, on an uncalled but obvious PI.

Fans can call it out as true, because it is true. But players cannot give it any mental space. Very different situations. Unless they let their zebra haters be their motivators and double down.

I am hoping Keyton and all our guys completely go off this week! Bring it!

How hilarious would it be for us to come out and use the huddle, and then execute running the ball down their throats with Joe keeping it several times?!! If Joe will keep it early and often and lower the boom on a few dudes, they will not want to tackle him or anyone in the 2nd half. If we come out with a plan to run him early to get him into the flow of the game, we will win the game.

I'd laugh a little if we came out in a power-i for a series. Would love to see the look on Saban's face,

Have you seen the Gameday thread created by @Glitch when Nick was busy and the onslaught of the game after??? Have you?? We’ve lived through the carnage. Those were some of our darkest days in the RF.

I'll add that I hope the environment is not 'too big' for this team. You can come out 'too hyped' and commit a lot of early penalties and foolish plays. With our more senior players, I don't believe that will be an issue.

This one is at home, and reminds me of the year they came up here, 07 I think. And we beat their faces in.

This year for sure. They were ridiculously talented the last 2 years and only lost 1 game. I think it was silly for that tweet to mention that we lost to Georgia...everyone lost to them.

Yeah it should have read “near impossible to stop unless you have a clear talent advantage”, which uga did.

Yes. Hardly worth mentioning that playing against a defense with 5 draft picks and a plethora of other 5 and 4 star players makes the offense difficult to run. Bama and LSU had a talent advantage and it didn't help them.

I think it’s pretty fair to say both need to be better. I don’t recall too many contested catches our receivers have made, let alone the wide open drops. Especially on the deep throws. Hopefully they can make a couple this weekend, and the whole passing game gains a little confidence. Think a few plays could turn it around tbh.

This is it. Joe may not be throwing perfect passes, but Tillman made contested catches when Hooker wasn’t perfect. The highlights are there. Need both to improve.
