It was a yard short. Go back and watch it. His legs touch before that photo is taken. Before the ball was as far as that photo shows.I mean, yeah… but even SEC refs aren’t shameless enough to get on the mic and say: “The runner’s elbow touched the ground when the ball was just barely touching the first down line. It will be fourth down.” They have to pretend it was a yard short.
Yeah, it’s pretty simple. Not a good idea to run those against Bama or UGA. Just punt and make their offense win the game. The under center QB sneak may be simple in its design. I feel like people think it is much easier in its execution that reality. Basically that play is simplifying the play to one major variable. If the interior OL and interior DL simply fire off the ball directly into each other, who pushes who. There is no advantage gained by indecision, false steps, poor angles. Simply who pushes who in what direction. I am not convinced Mays/Lane/Spraggins win a pushing match with Alabama DL. We lost the interior OL/DL battle the entire 2nd half.
Someone needs to get dirt on Sankey and use it to our advantage. Old Bama loving ugly POC has had to done something wrong with one of those Freeze type services.Politics and money. UT has no desire to leave the SEC, and DW and DP are unlikely to censure publicly. It would have to come from Randy Boyd. IIRC, UT gave up 26 and 27 uncontested points against UF and Bama -- two heated rivalry games-- which does not effectively counterpoint the narrative that UT was outplayed and outschemed in two uncompetitive losses.
UT is a school that goes along. I don't think Randy is at all afraid to speak up, but UT has been handcuffed by the NCAA investigation. UT needed Sankey's support and got it, because it benefited the conference. That’s over, but UT remains an out of favor program. The conference has been displeased with UT in multiple sports and has made an example out of UT numerous times. UT needs to get its power back. Sankey may not like UT, but we're a Big 6 School and can make him respect our value. I think we'll do that.
Those thinking we'll get a fair shake at KY, or Missouri are sadly mistaken. If we're not getting calls, at home against the likes of UTSA, why would one think we'll get them away against another SEC teams. Skanky saw what Tennessee could be last year. Tennessee is a risk to their manufactured hierarchy, unlike KY or MO. They don't want to see a Tennessee as a national contender. They don't want Tennessee to be a threat. They're intentionally trying to keep Tennessee down.
