Thanks to those who discussed Band of Brothers last week. I watched it over the past couple days and really touched by what I saw. I wish more people would watch it to understand the sacrifice that was laid out for the liberties and freedoms we enjoy today.
I have seen other WWII movies, but curious on other shows that center around D Day and the march to Berlin. Thanks !
I think you should remove that phrase from your vocabulary. If you consider it, it posits an equivalence between our best and worst coaches. It made sense when we were on a streak of bad hires, since they all sucked; and the humor helped us through the disasters..... It’d be so Tennessee ....
Because they know KY will never be a threat. The more they hurt Tennessee the more it benefits their established hierarchy. Why would Kentucky get any whistles against us? If it's the SEC trying to uphold the hierarchy, then we would get the whistles.
I am not saying it is not effective. But that research needs to be more disaggregated to be more accurate. What is the success rate when there is a gap in talent on the OL/DL? We will hopefully get to a point where less creativity is required in a 4th and 1 sneek situation. We can just bully for 1 yard without hesitation. And we can against most teams we play. I am not completely sold that we can just bully interior DL of the best teams we play right now. Still doesn't mean that we can't try it. What I think is obvious is that the coaches who judge such things do not have a great deal of confidence that we we can do that vs a DL like Alabama has right now.No it's by far the most effective play in football. No other play comes close to its level of effectiveness. It works close to 90% of the time.
We also QB snuck it several times last year and we ran out of center multiple times.
We did both against Virginia. The sneak worked, of course.
Why we haven't done it since is beyond all reason.
I missed the first quarter Saturday and rewatched it last night
If Joe Milton can bottle that up and play like that for four quarters, we won’t lose another game this year
why does Sankey care about the established hierarchy besides what can benefit the league financially?Because they know KY will never be a threat. The more they hurt Tennessee the more it benefits their established hierarchy.
Tennessee loses against the Luke's of Mizzou and KY, it keeps them in the slurry of everyone else in the SECE. Recruiting is affected as well. They despise a powerful Tennessee.
I had almost this same thought Saturday night. I know SEC “evaluates” their refs each week but we know that doesn’t mean anything and unconscious bias still has an influence in that. I’d love to see an independent source put something like this into effect and have the results public. Pro Football reference does something like this for the NFL where they have each ref, their calls and stats and how it compares to the league average. The problem is it’s not granular and specific enough to be able to evaluate anything further. At least in the public facing data. There are many of y'all who trust AI even less than the humans you believe are against us, but AI would be the ideal tool to expose bias in officiating. I would like to see somebody put together a tool for evaluating officiating. I'm sure it's possible, and it would be impossible to ignore if it found such. Could explore not consistent application of standards, but also determine whether there was a pattern of penalties affecting the outcome more or less often.

I still don't get why you would despise Tennessee if you are the SEC though. We are one of the biggest brands, with the largest fanbases, and we make probably Top 3 money in the conference.Because they know KY will never be a threat. The more they hurt Tennessee the more it benefits their established hierarchy.

Yeah, Ive seen it and I believe it. Seems though like that would take backseat to the potential money a powerful Tennessee would bring in, which would be significant. If you are good at business, you put beef aside to make more money and the SEC is good at business.Go re-read what LAVol posted. For some reason we aren’t in the good graces of those in power (I guess because our players were taking money instead of killing people).
Because the established hierarch has put millions in his pockets and he wants more.why does Sankey care about the established hierarchy besides what can benefit the league financially?
My hope is from now on we run Joe like we did Saturday. If he keeps taking off like that and picking up big chunks then we will destroy Kentucky, because they aren't stopping our running backs.Like many have stated in here before…joe using his legs to extend plays keeps the defense honest and opens up the play book..that was the difference in the first half and it was the difference with hendon..we kept defenses off balance all last year and we kept Alabama guessing the whole first half then we just quit…it makes zero sense to me.joe loves the contact obviously so let him have it.this gives joe a better feel for the game in my opinion…
if joe is given the same green light like they gave Hendon we’re undefeated plain and simple. Opponents know we have a 3 headed monster at RB so loading the box forcing joe to beat them in the passing game is the clear game plan weekly.Josh is just going to have to bite the bullet and trust joe a little more that also includes taking it himself if it gets us a first down to extend the drive.
Burning mastresses when Kiffin left, axing the Schiano hire, throwing things against Ole Miss, the 2021 baseball team shenanigans, the AA investigation with Pruitt, Pearl and his BBQ. We aren't lap dogs that just lie down and take things and the powers that be don't like that.I still don't get why you would despise Tennessee if you are the SEC though. We are one of the biggest brands, with the largest fanbases, and we make probably Top 3 money in the conference.
