Again, you're making my point for me. They had us losing Saturday. The whole plan from day one was for Alabama and GA to meet for the conference championship. It's been built that way on purpose for several years. One strong team in the west, AL, One strong team from the East, GA, who rarely play one another. They had already pencilled in us losing to GA. Who will Bama lose to?
To certain extent you are right. Tennessee would if we were on top, just like Georgia. But Bama is a different animal. They have been the flagship of the SEC since they beat USC in the Rose Bowl in the 30's. To large portion of the country Alabama is the SEC (The Yankees, to them the rest of the South is unacceptable even though those losers are moving here in droves). Even when Bama sucked they still got the treatment. Been watching it for a long time and have heard the stories from generations of my kin.I am saying the league has consistently protected its most likely playoff contenders and Alabama was just that on Saturday, but that there isn’t a conspiracy by the SEC to specifically keep Tennessee down like some have been alluding. Last year we had a chance to break through but we didn’t seize it.
Until we can beat GA, we will have no credibility playing them. However, we showed that we can beat Bama last year. Baby steps.Again, you're making my point for me. They had us losing Saturday.
