You're crazy if you don't think Bama fans would take Dabo or Harbaugh in a heartbeat if Saban retired, today. I like Kiffin, but he isn't in their league. He's not an embarrassing alternative, either, but he's not in their tier. None of those guys on that initial list have ever failed at any stop, either, the way Kiffin did on his biggest stage at USC. That has to be a concern for Bama regardless of what he's done at Ole Miss.
Sark also failed at USC then rehabbed under a Saban, just like Kiffin did. Didn’t stop Texas from hiring him, now they’re in the CFP.

Lanes former FIL is Gator 🐊 royalty.
And when he dumped Tennessee for USC, he dumped her brother also.

Heupel....it's Heupel. They're all coming for Heupel when the openings come. Say it.

I think we beat Iowa by 10+ points but I kind of hope Nico struggles just a little. Not enough for the fans to flip on him, just enough to show he's human.

Explanation:
I want Nico going into the 1st game next year with something to prove. The fans have been begging for this and the expectations are off the charts right now. It needs to be curbed some. Joe played really well in the Orange Bowl. Then the practice reports last summer/fall were all very positive about Joe's accuracy and I even remember seeing "the receivers hadn't dropped a ball all camp". When the offense struggled this season, the 1st thing the fans did was pile on Joe and the receivers (and Heupel some). There were even people chanting "NICO" in the VA game. I think Nico is the real deal and the best QB we've had since PM. But.... I also believed Joe had turned the corner after the Clemson game and he didn't play anywhere close to his Orange Bowl performance at the start of the year. He did get better but some of the fans had unreservedly wrote him off. I don't want the fans to blast Nico this coming season if he struggles, like they did Milton .... me included.

The only man to win the Heisman, a National Championship, a Super Bowl, league MVP, and Super Bowl MVP.

Lamar Jackson may be next.

Edit: Oops...just realized you included national championship. Burrow is the only one that can possibly match that in the next 5-10 years.

Surely he wasn't scared of Will Howard??

The Will Howard who played at Kansas State .lol....

Miller Moss starts next season for USC, Will Howard just wasted his CoVid year or Grad Year or whatever rule which gives players a 5th or 6th year...
Class of 2020…so Covid. Grad transfer doesn’t give you an extra season, just allows you to transfer and receive immediate eligibility…which he didn’t require this being his first transfer. Howard will get to compete and might surprise in this offense as opposed to Kansas State’s.

Personally I'm pulling for Meechigan!

I hope Milroe throws 4 picks and bama gets absolutely boat raced!
Besides hating Bama, of course, I have a nefarious agenda in these playoffs.
I want Michigan to win the national title and then for the feckless NCAA to have to strip them of it when all of the SIGN SCANDAL details come out.

If Joe gets drafted it will be late Round 6 ..

I bet he goes in the first three rounds, and gets buzz as a potential first rounder

He apparently is quite the practice player who has wowed many coaches in practice settings

I think someone becomes enamored and concludes they can “fix” him

We will see!

I somewhat agree, but if he really shines in this game it might help us in the transfer market in the spring with people wanting to hop on the train.
