i don’t know if they would have lost or pulled off two upsets…. We have proof of that from own history…. All Miami had to do was beat huge underdog Tennessee with a walk on qb that had put all of 6 points on Georgia Tech……Florida State would have a had a month to come up with plan on how to utilize that qb in a better manner.I don’t disagree that they got robbed but they would’ve lost by 2 scores to every other team in the playoff. Now they earned the right to do that but still.
Not sure I agree on the conference being weak with the SEC having 5 of the top 13 teams in the country.
Right, and I didn't say failing at a previous stop precluded success at another. Sark is an example. Kiffin already is too, to an extent, just at a lesser school.Sark also failed at USC then rehabbed under a Saban, just like Kiffin did. Didn’t stop Texas from hiring him, now they’re in the CFP.
Only caveat there is that AR was much younger and a very dynamic runner. Milton has some wheels, but it's more straight line speed. Zero agility.Anthony Richardson had a bad year at Florida and got drafted in the first round. Joe had an average year here and will arguably look better at the combine than AR did. I'd be shocked if he goes undrafted given the precedent for drafting combine heroes.
Fair point.Right, and I didn't say failing at a previous stop precluded success at another. Sark is an example. Kiffin already is too, to an extent, just at a lesser school.
I'm just saying it would be a consideration that doesn't exist in the other candidates I mentioned.
IIRC AR scored well on his wonderlic. Will be curious to see if that has any impact. Joe is an intriguing prospect. Some team will take a flyer. 4th-5th round imo.Anthony Richardson had a bad year at Florida and got drafted in the first round. ALL POSTERS!!!!! Please do not respond to the latest rando thread, "Current Recruiting Class Much Better Than it Appears". Please let it drop out of sight so as to not clutter up the RF. TIA for your efforts in keeping the RF free of clutter.
Yeah, I learned to avoid that. Rules… 1. If we’re up by a lot and everything is going our way. Visit maybe. 2. If we win just go to after game. 3. If we lose avoid game thread and maybe here.I think a good idea for all message boards is to shut down during games and not reopen till an hour after the game concludes. Looking back, I have seen very good posters make very bad posts (sometimes distasteful) during and immediately after a game.
The problem is creating a system where all conference champions don’t get an automatic bid. It’s unbelievable that an undefeated conference champion didn’t get in when those with loses did. But they probably are not undefeated if they played in another conference. So then it’s just left up to opinions…which have been proven wrong so many times.ACC sucks. That is their issue. Nick Saban (not Bama) has imo earned the benefit in any close decision too. We all know who Vegas thinks was better. Money talks. This whole earned it thing is so overblown because none of the schedules are fair. Did TCU earn their complete ass whipping last year? That championship was bad football. The real championship has been the SEC championship most years and anyone with eyes will admit it. We should stop propping up straw men to watch them get destroyed. UGA should probably be in too, but that is a bridge too far. Most would agree they would have likely annihilated most teams. The expansion cannot come fast enough for me. Bowls not mattering will be half as important as how awesome these playoffs will be.
Then they should just do away with conferences completely. If the ACC has no chance of getting in a playoff with an undefeated conference champ that had 3 Top 25 wins (including No 5 (at the time) LSU) and another win over another SEC team (granted it was UF and they were down this year), then why should they even bother with their regular season. Just do away with conferences, have all the P5 teams play each other on a rotating schedule, and have the 12 team playoff.ACC sucks. That is their issue.
