FSU is a shell of itself with all the opt outs and transfers. Everyone knew they would get murdered in this game. Players stopped caring when the Committee jobbed them in favor of Bama, who should not be in the playoff.

It’s still an embarrassment by FSU. Georgia has opt outs as well and at least they are playing motivated football and showed up to the “meaningless” bowl game trying to win. FSU quit on the season, which is absolutely pathetic, IMO.

I’m not going to feel sorry for them. It’s a team sport and a bunch of their players just quit on their team. Doesn’t exactly speak volumes for Norvell’s culture.

Gotta put some more structure, rules/regulations around this new rogue, Wild Wild West version of CFB. I haven’t watched a single bit of live action of any bowl games. Mainly because they are worthless outside the CFP.

If you want to prove you belong in the playoffs, you dont need to be losing to Georgia 42-3 at halftime. Kinda ruins the argument, even if most your best players opted out.

The protest opt outs were a mistake. All they did was make everyone feel justified in them being left out. I get what they were doing, but it’s backfired immensely

Georgia hasn't had close to the attrition of FSU. And maybe it does speak to the culture of the program. No idea. But I can also understand why players would opt out of a bowl game that has no championship ramifications to protect and prepare themselves to go pro. It sucks for college football fans and makes for a crappy bowl game, but they're prioritizing their futures. If I were an FSU fan, my "culture" concern would be more directed at the number of transfers, and less at players opting out to protect their NFL futures.

This is not meant as a negative comment to your statement and not saying you are suggesting it. But I do find it funny people on this board make fun of “our culture” and not taking certain transfers and turn around and complain about FSU’s opt outs and commenting about culture.

Not saying all of these quotes are people supporting FSU, but when you are down nearly half a hundred at halftime then there are no excuses for you being a playoff team. More importantly, UGA would have blasted half this playoff selection, and they DID show up despite being out. I am not celebrating rivals, but pointing out we are knocking on the door of being a legit contender. We had Bama down at half on the road with Milton...

I don’t get your point. Are you saying I’m implying Tennessee has a bad culture because Tamarion McDonald and Tyler Baron opted out? Because that’s not what I’m saying. I also think there is a difference in a few players opting out and basically half your team opting out.

Agreed. Just like the Citrus Bowl means something to me as well. You only get 12 guaranteed games a year. I want to win all of them, even the 13th game. Why wouldn’t I? None of Tennessee’s games are meaningless to me and I hate that so many people view them as such now.
