Not entirely. You are also fighting for the best seeding possible. You want to be ranked as high as possible in case there is a log jam..... For most games you're right but ranked bowl teams are certainly playing for something.

Bowl season began to lose it's luster in the BCS era I think.................but it was still better than this BS.
I like the FCS system, and have stated it as a way to do the FBS playoffs for years when people whined about "too many games for the kids."


I'm an admitted proponent to the "old system."............before BCS.
I miss the 70's and '80s. I'm old and set in my ways................

I'm as old and set in my ways as they come...and I have ALWAYS hated how college determined its champion.

My problem with everything now is just the pure chaos and the TOTAL mercenary nature of CFB in its current form...all I want is fairness of competition, and some law and order that preserves the best of CFB while accomodating the needs of people.

More than anything...I want fans to matter...NONE of these mercenary bastards would ever make a damn dime off of any f'n sport ever if it was not for US...PERIOD....we should matter.

I don't know how anybody could argue with that.

From that TCU team 11 or 12 starters graduated, including Quarterback. Top Running Back, 1st Round WR, top CB and top Offensive lineman...

TCU hired a mediocre coach that was able to add a different offensive flair to some fairly decent talent…. They were headed downward regardless of what they did in the playoffs…. They will now settle into 5- 8/9 wins per season.

FSU is trying to fight the REAL best team in the country, with both hands tied behind their back. This is the result. Take away the same caliber, the same numbers from Bama, Michigan, Texas, whoever...UGA skull drags them, as well.

This game was over the moment FSU didn't get into the playoffs, and were paired with UGA. Anyone putting any type of stock, whatsoever, into what's going on right now is foolish.

Also, culture arguments hold water. FSU decided to quit whenever they didn't get in...UGA decided to take their rage out on somebody.
