Well to be fair I'm 30, and I was thinking about the big 3 of UT mens sports in my lifetime. Definitely experienced a decade worth of garbage in baseball and football. We were also pretty bad at basketball a few times in my life. So 1 decade of crap (which is mainly what I've experienced) is definitely worth a title to me Lol. Also I love Barnes. I already said that. But I'd say a title isnt a taste. People still live in '98 and talk about it with such passion. I was 5. I wish I could remember that amount of success. A little bit of "if you're not first you're last". I respect and understand your opinion though.10 years of for one f'n title?...that is a HUGE hell no for me...
And then you say "but people don't want just a taste of it(success)here and there"...that is one of the biggest contradictory statements I've seen in a long time.. How in the hell is 1 title and 10 years of not "a taste of it here and there"?
You have to build a strong program to even get a shot at a f'n title, and we have a great program thanks to Rick Barnes tbat gets a shot every damn year, and I'm good with that and damn proud of it.
Lol Bruce Pearl built that culture before all that and it carried through the Tybdall and Martin years. Played in big time tournaments and played big time teams in the OOC every year. It's weird...so many of the things you say really highlight your level of ignorance to TN basketball.
"the travel DW has allowed the basketball team to schedule"
The Grant/Admiral era pre-dated DW and that team played at the Barclays Center, Footprint Center, Battle of Atlantis, at Iowa State, Maui Invitational, at North Carolina, at Butler, at TCU...
Barnes created that culture before DW ever showed up man. Barnes was scheduling Gonzaga, Butler, North Carolina, Purdue, Villanova, etc. he set that standard of playing top tier opponents and traveling to do it well before he had even started winning here.
If the SECorrupt officials would ever call OTs for holding...he would have led CFB. They let our opponents do anything they want to our DL.1st team All American
Way-Too-Early All-America team for 2024
Who will be the players to watch next season in college football? We take an early look at the best of the best.www.espn.com
Bruce pearl built very little, he got fired and put the program under investigation that effected our HC pool and everything else. I swear our fans are the most ignorant bunch in the SEC sometimesLol Bruce Pearl built that culture before all that and it carried through the Tybdall and Martin years.
