Harrison Bailey let's eat. Hyatt & Wideman out wide, Jet/Callaway in the slotA couple of notes to recap Pruitt on Vol Calls –
First as someone already posted Pruitt got a “funny” text from Lane Kiffin while being asked a question by Brent. I figure Lane is looking for some advice on his defense or maybe asking to borrow a few guys for their game this week with Alabama. Anyway Pruitt was laughing and asked Brent to repeat the question.
Pruitt said practices this week have been good. The guys are very focused. He went through the same list of things he’s been talking about that we need to work on. He said the guys on this team have a lot of confidence. They’re looking forward to the game and working hard to be at their best when we go down to Athens.
He said we obviously had a lot of guys miss a lot of fall camp so there at the end of camp the older guys got most of the work when they came back so we could get ready for our opening games. In an effort to recover from that and get back on the program’s preferred track the team will hold about a 50 play scrimmage Sunday night in order to get some of the younger guys more up to speed and ready for the Kentucky game.
For Tennessee to win we need to do the following.
1. D-line and linebackers have to get penetration and reset the line of scrimmage on every play. No plays off.
2. The offense needs to stretch the field sideline to sideline to take pressure off the interior O-line(Brandon Kennedy). Give a little action to keep them honest.
3. Misdirection plays need to be called early and often. Use Georgia’s over aggressive nature against them.
4. If Hyatt doesn’t run two miles Saturday by stretching the field vertically, Jim Chaney did not do his job.
5. JG needs a zero mistake game. (Turnovers, reads, checks)
6. Special teams
We do this and we have a chance in the fourth.
