Well, lost day of work for me. Running back and forth between the doctor and school trying to figure out an insurance claim for my little dude’s two broken arms. Doc can’t do the work till it’s worked out

Woah, prayers for you and your kid. Also, how in the world did he break both arms?

I think it’s true that our defense needs another year or two. I don’t think that’s true on offense. As long as JG is decent we can absolutely go toe to toe with Georgia. We did it last year in the second half against Bama with a less talented and experienced offense.
i want to agree with this, because, it isn't wrong....you're right.
but i can't get myself to agree this year. maybe it's the lack of games so far or whatever.....but my eyeballs tell me that we're actually closer on defense, talent wise.

offensively, we know what hte line brings to the table talent wise. we all know chandler and gray are good....these two things are tangible evidence of why we should hvae a chance of winning pretty much any game we play.....

we think our WR's are good.....and so far, they've done nothing to discount that assertion.

the big question is the QB....and while i will praise JG for his improvement week 2 from week 1....i can't say i'm confident that he's ready to be THE reason we can win a game like this one coming up.....maybe that's it? we've not seen JG take the field, put the team on his back--against an opponent like this....sure he's done it against some programs we're peers with right now....cause we don't win a couple of the games late last year w/out JG. i've no problem stating that, i belive it to be true.

but winning a game on the road against a top 3 opponent that presents a defense like they do........................?

nah, havent' seen anything that leads me to believe that he's now that guy....but i'm sure rooting for him to be!!!

One line of thinking common on VN about this game, that I hope the team is not thinking...

“We can’t make any mistakes if we want to win.”

Mistakes will be made. Being afraid of mistakes tends to lead to mistakes.

Just play ball. If the breaks go against you, put on more steam.

We don’t have to be perfect to win this game. We just have to end up with more points than them. Trying to be perfect produces timidity. Just play. Be physical. Be aggressive. Make plays. Forget being perfect.

Fortunately, none of the current players have experienced the last decade of our misery so won't play with fear, particularly since this staff does not coach with fear.

This is an excellent test this weekend. See where we stack up progress wise. Handling the lower tier SEC teams is now expected. That was step 1. Beating a top team or two is now the next Move up. Pull one of Georgia, bama, or Florida and we add another excellent recruiting class to the roster. Another top tier class will go a very long way In the trajectory of our program. We are right there, right now. Can we close. Can’t. Wait. To see.

Mike Griffith on Finebaum...guy hates Jeremy Pruitt.

I was confused when he was talking about the hit that Stokes put on Maurer last season. He was talking about that both teams were bringing the hear, and it was late in the game and UT was still throwing (they were trailing) so Kirby blitzed because Pruitt "broke the code." Was he saying Pruitt broke the code by throwing the ball at that point in the game? Despite trailing? He didn't explain so I don't know what he was talking about, but he seemed to put the hit on Maurer pn Pruitt for "breaking the code."
