My inclination for giving Tee an interim shot is based on the fact that he’s next in line. He’s the assistant head coach so he’d get the interim tag.

I also think there’s a fair chance he would do a good job as HC here and I won’t apologize for it.

If I’m a little too optimistic about a VFL, national championship winning QB who I know is a good dude and cares mightily about this program then so be it. I’m not asking anyone to follow me or hop on board.

Well that was a defensive answer. lol We all have our opinions and that is fine but being VFL, Champion winning QB and being a good dude doesn't really prove anything. You could say the same thing about Peyton but that doesn't mean he is a sure fire good coach.

Serious question, Where are you getting all this confidence in Tee all the sudden? I just don't see how we can afford to settle for another want to be HC.

I actually like Tee as well, and wanted Phil to pick him over Pruitt. First and foremost Tee has a rep of an elite recruiter. He also has WC connections. Tee has been at many stops and although he was the scapegoat at USC last year, I haven't ever heard a negative word about him. Also he knows TN he knows the bran he's a guy that the fan base should be able to untie behind and the board/money guys as well. Tee also does well in front of the media. IMO if we could find him 2 elite coordinators and let him be what Pruitt should be which is a CEO type guy, I believe he could be a good HC. At the risk of getting this post deleted ill add this. Think of today's climate. Now think about Tee don't you think that would play well with recruits, because I do.

Absolutely. We need a proven HC and idk who realistically besides Freeze would fit that role.

He’s not going to be the HC at UT it’s a pipe dream for you and hiring another unproven OC (if you can call him that) isn’t going to fix us. He will get ran out of town in 3 years or sooner and then it will get ugly because he’s one of our own.

I’m not clamoring for Tee, but to say he would be a disaster with no proof is ridiculous. Look at Pittman, everyone laughed at that hire. But he surrounded himself with great assistants and motivates his team well.

He has to be man. Idk why any sane fan would settle for a project coordinator who will have to learn in the fly. It’s the same ones griping about Pruitt being inexperienced as an HC. It was a project. Pruitt recruited some decent young talent but the project failed. It’s time to hire a proven winner.

Interim sure but no more than that. I’d be fine with Tee finishing out the season but he doesn’t need to be HC here. He should be somewhere else outside the power 5 first and have success before he should even be considered.

I know Tee Martin is a good coach, I know the players love him, I know he cares about this university and I know he won’t embarrass us or tell people he’s not worried because he can get an assistant job at Alabama.

Do I know he’d win big here? No I don’t. But I don’t know that with any of these candidates. Not even y’all’s golden boy Hugh Freeze.

Is Tee at the top of my list of sure fire candidates? No he isn’t. But if he got this job, it would 100000% fill me with a sense of pride and I’d get behind him with everything I’ve got.

Buddy I hate to break it to you. Pittman will not lead Arkansas to anything substantial but apparently that’s what we are settling for at UT. Mediocre.

Yeah, we could run out a few pretty good candidates, but fans wouldn't be happy unless its HF. But what if we do get HF and he fails how ugly would it be then?

Knowing who we are as a program... And our modern history and identity at who's been best at being head coaches here.... At the end of the day tee winds up making a lot of sense.

Especially considering who is ruining the utad currently.

So I'll buy that as an option. Both necessarily option 1... But certainly an option.
