Control issues are nothing that can't be solved with more money.

I'm just saying. A coach willing to turn down multiple SEC offers rightfully or wrongfully believes his stock is extremely high.

Personally, I think Napier will be a tremendous coach somewhere.

Could you imagine Aunt Bev dropping a quote like that, much less actually "getting it" on a serious level? I love the business, investment-oriented mindset behind that statement. It isn't very common in academia.

Have been really impressed with Plowman so far. We still do need to pump the brakes until White hires a HC though.

Honestly as long as it’s not Steele I’m fine with whatever coach is hired. I trust White completely and the administration has a plan and are executing like they want. That matters to me more than anything. Means we have competent leadership.

As I think about it, Napier may have wanted an insane amount of control in an program where he didn't trust or believe in the AD. That might change in a situation where he's bought in with the AD.

Tbh, same. I'm not sure why people are so high on him. Seems like just as much of an experiment as Chadwell, except Napier seems like more of a headcase/ego if the behind the scenes chatter about him demanding complete & total control is true. What has he really accomplished to earn this praise? Seems like a high risk, high reward guy at best.
