I don’t doubt the TE stuff. Too many people got that one and he is the consistent name. It is not out of the realm of possibility that he could get in for from Clemson side. A lot of TN ties over at that school whether that is former coaches, players or recruits we missed on that went there.
I just don’t want to go the coordinator route. It doesn’t instill confidence in this fan base. We need that more than anything.

Just hire Tony Elliot and let’s roll if you boast about backing up the Brinks truck and then feed us a slogan slinger like butch and whoever the hell Sonny Dykes is. Fleck isn’t “impressive” or a “white whale”.
Tony Elliot? GTFO...

Much rather have Fleck than that dude.

I think Fleck is too much like Butch Jones.

Might be a better coach but the whole cliche’s act got real tiresome after a while.

I don’t think he’d be a good fit here.

This is where Row The Boat came from. It has nothing to do with being gimmicky. Fleck is not my first choice, but for the love of all that is holy, you all should actually pay attention to what's going on instead of throwing your little baby fits when we get news that is different from who you want:

On Feb. 9, 2011, Fleck lost his second son, Colt, to a heart condition. Row the Boat originated after his son passed away.
“As you hold your son as he passes away, your whole life changes. What you believe in, how you’ve believed in it, what you’ve done to that point, where you’re going to go and how you’re going to live your life all changes. But Row the Boat is really my second son’s life as I continue to live his life for him. It’s his life.
“It’s a never-give-up mantra that has to do strictly with life or adversity or handling success, never giving up, and it means a few things. When you row a boat, you’re rowing, don’t ever look at me and paddle. That’s completely different. We’re rowing. Your back is to the future, which is something you cannot control, nor can you see. You have to trust the person in front of you, that you’re looking at, that they’re doing their job and rowing at the same speed, same efficiency as you are. But that’s the future, you can’t control that. You don’t know if there’s rocks, water falls, stormy seas, you don’t know what’s ahead of you. You’re rowing in the present, which is the only thing you can actually control, and the only thing you can actually have an impact on. You either choose to take your oars and put them back in the boat and stop, or you put them back in the water and continue to go. But you’re looking at the past, which is the only thing you can actually learn from. But you can’t change.

Every single person on this board would be rowing the boat after the initial presser. We all know it’s true. Hell bass almost creamed his pants when Pruitt was shooting a paintball gun.

Fleck is actually crazy enough to think he can beat Saban by bringing a spork to a gunfight and the crazy fool might could do it. We might not win but he would have the players thinking they stood a chance and belonged there

And every single person will be over the carnie barker slogan slinging 3 years from now when we are 0-9 against Bama, UGA and UF.

I’d be content with Fleck. He wouldn’t win an SEC Chanpionship but he’d build UT back to respectability. And have it stabilized. And we’d probably become a 8-10 win type program under him.

My prediction that I was chastised for is the AD hire would be more popular than the HC hire. Fleck is a program builder but you have a ceiling. Your not consistently competing with the big boys you say this job is judged on.

Kind of like a Mike Leach hire...makes bad teams a lot better but you ain’t competing for championships.
