Tennessee is 66-69 in my time of watching. I just want us to quit being a media punching bag and the butt of jokes. Considering it is by far the best I have seen in my life, I was thrilled when we were winning 8 games a year and a bowl game. My expectations are very tempered.

Mitchell and Banks will be solid lbs for us this year, just worried about whats behind them

Mitchell would be a good start, but I think we need at least one more ILB from the portal. Even if he doesn't leave, Willis is a freshman that's missed out on the head start that being an EE was supposed to give him. Banks has not really excelled at the position. And we've lost 3 to the portal.

I don’t know that Banks is out of position. Just had a position coach (or two) last year that probably didn’t know how to develop.

I don't think you can judge Banks just yet because of Neidermeyer masquerading as a College football coach. Garland will give solid depth, Need one or two more to step up or move in.

Seems to be the trend. For whatever reason

I really think it’s the culture in Knoxville and campus. Can’t explain why but I could feel it during my time there eroding. Just felt like the school (academically and athletically) had arrived and rested on their laurels. The admin took for granted the droves of fans that show up to sporting events, no matter what. Meanwhile other schools had the influx of talent due to recruiting hotbeds. Apathy. In several aspects... no strive to be great. Danny White and Plowman feel... different... but that doesn’t mean anything. Sports are hard.
