It sucks we’re self imposing scholarships. Forces us to be super picky in the portal, hinders depth, and just makes it more difficult for us to get where we all want to be. And at a time when the NCAA has less of a punch than they’ve ever had.

Smart with the timing though. Any other year we would have been stuck back at 20. Now we can get up to 27. And even then we have to git a handful just to get there, so it's not that bad really. To take on those 5 more, we'd have to let 5 more go, so it'd be sort of a wash (to some degree) anyway. And the payoff is the image that we're taking one on the wrist.

A friend of his from the Navy worked in Hollywood and gave him the addresses to some of the co-stars of John Wayne movies. He sent letters to them and asked for an autographed photo. He got hundreds of responses.........Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Stewart, Shirley Temple, Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, and Dean Martin to name a few. Wayne's son Patrick came to my grandfathers house to see his collection. He work on this for the last 20 years of his life and willed it to me after his passing. Something I cherish to this day.

That's awesome, Patrick played some great roles in those movies too!!

SC has done some of that, but they have also added some quality players that will improve their team next year. We saw how MSU improved their team this year through the portal.

We have holes all over this roster. Even if there isn't a 5 star caliber player in the portal, there has to be a bunch of dudes in there better than what we have at LB and in the secondary. Our staff chose not to pursue Zach Evans, we missed on Gibbs and Verse, and apparently that Wake Forest RB who committed to SC was a miss also. and we have added 2 quality pieces. We need a lot more.

Maybe they want to see who is in there after spring practice. But in my mind, the sooner the better since they'd be able to go through spring

Id bet you were the kid that got $5 for the carnival and blew it at the first game you saw in 2 minutes. Then you would cry the rest of the time about being broke. The staff has to be very selective due to numbers restrictions and there is a ridiculous multitude of candidates out there with more every day...so chill your man boobs and see what transpires.

Some it maybe trying to keep the guys we have and targeting guys who are better overall fits. You bring in a top dog like Evans who is likely a 1 year guy, then guys like Wright and Small may be tempted to leave, and your RB room becomes very thin in 2022 and extremely thin in 2023.

I agree that we need a RB, but we need more a complimentary back to go with Small and Wright. Ideally, a RB with good receiving chops. Sucks that Tyrell Robinson took his name out of the portal because he was a perfect fit, imo.

Checking in at the end of the week,
seeing we are now on a Westerns debate, mens basketball is still a letdown/under performing/bi-polar team (who will show up this week/game?) in Jan with tons of underdeveloped talent and no one is allowed to point the finger at the head coach, still no new portal pickups, especially on defense, but apparently we are talking to a lot of kids interested but not in the portal, while other teams across the country and in our conference are scooping up the existing portal talent but because we are not, means there is something wrong with the talent in the portal now and that's why we are not going after them, We continue to post stats from this past season to give us the warm and fuzzies, someone posted/reminded us that Heup is not perfect- he originally decided to go with Milton over Hooker that potentially cost us two more W's so let that sink into the orange punch everyone is drinking, and we are waiting to see if Hooker and Tillman are coming back... We will win at least 7-8 games next season. GBO!
