Pruitt says Trey Smith will be back and ready for fall camp.

Fantastic news and very happy to be wrong on this one. Very happy for Trey that the issue apparently wasn’t reoccurring.

Pick them Vols over 5.5, folks.

Good for you for reporting the good news and being genuinely happy your source was incorrect.

I’ll take this over the talking heads puffing up Florida and crapping on us.

Both teams have roughly the same talent, the same record last year, a hail mary’s difference in the game, and both teams are implementing new offensive and defensive schemes.

I’m not gonna run from anything and I’ve stayed over and over I don’t want to be known as an “insider” on this board.

Happy to be wrong on this one and hopefully we’ll get to see Trey Smith maul folks this year.

Impressed with his much more comfortable Pruitt is in front of the cameras than just a few months ago.

He's sure seems excited to me.

when you account for where the program is roster wise, where our opponents are and where our fanbase’s expectations are.

I think this is spot on. Based on what we saw on the field, not potential.

Now, JP has come in and changed some positions, changed weight, changed attitudes, etc.

Let’s see if it translates to wins on the field.

He has the chance to change the narrative but for me what is stated above is spot on until we step on the field.

I think it’s a fair point about where opponents are and where our roster is. But last year was the first year ever that we lost 8 games with terrible development and play calling.

Butch Jones, of all people, went 5-7 his first year with a worse roster and played Marcus Mariota on the road. I don’t think it’s unreasobable to expect this team to at least win 6-7 games. If we go 5-7, I guess it just depends on how it looks.

Just ditch that “source.”

It’s a hit or miss game. Ultimately things are fluid and unless you’re one of the decision makers (he’s not), you can get flawed/outdated information.

Same guy told me weeks before it was leaked that Currie flew to Cincinnatti to scout Scott Frost and told me Pruitt was the guy two days before it was announced.

It's annoying that SEC Network has to put all of last year's graphics all over the screen. It feels so irrelevant to me and has nothing to do with Pruitt. But I guess it is what it is. That's how media operate.

Pruitt was pretty great. Super energetic and positive. That opening speech felt like one big recruiting pitch. Love it.

I can understand recruiting is fluid, but this type news does not just pop up. It’s something that’s been brewing for a while, and the announcement is calculated.

We're better off this year than last year. We're bigger, stronger, faster and the players are more invested. Even with the inexperience, we're much better coached. We play some teams that are clearly better than us, but we also play 3 cupcakes and 3-5 average teams. UT is an out-of-favor team and the media has a downside bias-- as do some UT fans. I'm glad the coaches are keeping things quiet-- no point feeding the media.

It’s guaranteed the players last year knew that Butch was trying to find a way out at the end of the 2016 season. I would argue that many of them were not invested from that point forward.

SECN all over supposed ugly “stories” of Pruitt’s supposed insubordination at UGA under Richt. Anybody got any insight?
