Finally saw good movement in the pocket from JG yesterday. He stepped up twice in a row to get us the TD before halftime.

JG has improved immensely, as has the OL, and errybody else including the coaching staff. Hopefully the fans can join the party.

We made UK one dimensional. In order to beat Missouri we have to take away the run on defense and score early and often on offense. Missouri will get their big chunk yardage plays but we have to limit them.

I think we need to pressure Lock.

that was always funny to me bcuz they sited the story VQ(?) ran last year that JJ refused to take reps from JG, but completely ignored how they said everything between them got fixed in the spring

One note last night on Drew Richmond. When we scored and the fight broke out, he came to the sideline as fired up as I have EVER seen him. He was ready to beat the piss out of anyone wearing blue and was getting the crowd and team fired up. This coach has been on his tail BUT he is trying to respond and get coached up. Was good to see players are getting chewed out but this staff knows if they are worth it they can bring them back around. Drew seems to be one of those who constantly needs to be pushed and kicked in the butt and this staff will do it. This is why I think you see so many former players who respect CJP so much.

I think he was in the middle of the tussle, too. He went in there to help Jauan (like he needs it, LOL).

Good coaching or just got lucky in these two instances???


1) punting the ball on 4th and 3 from Kentucky's 34 yard line.



2) attempting the Hail Mary instead of running a short 5-10yard route and kicking a fg.



Imo I think punting was good coaching. It was going to be a defensive day and that was a good conservative decision.


Imo the Hail Mary was really dumb and really lucky. I thought we should have run a short route, called our last TO and kicked a FG. If we throw an incomplete pass throw the Hail Mary on the next play. 6 seconds is plenty of time for that.

Throwing the Hail Mary never really crossed my mind. I thought we were looking to set up the FG, too. I understand Bruin’s reputation doesn't give him the benefit of the doubt, but I just didn’t think that was what they would do. Maybe that was the element of surprise, but the percentages aren’t real high to succeed.

What was the wind like at that end of the field? No guarantee they get the play completed in less than 6 seconds. Pruitt figured we were close enough to throw it in the endzone and was not sure we would have time for two plays. It was smart; especially with the playmakers we have who can highpoint the ball. It was a huge, huge play that made it way more difficult for UK in the second half. And. it. worked.

Why in the hell is 28 still playing over 3?

We don't see every play in the secondary. Osborne had the two picks, but we don't see the coverage on every play. I think I will continue to trust our coaching staff.

Last night, JG stepped up in Athe pocket twice at the end of the 1st half to buy some time and made good throws. Great to see.

I love the way Tim Jordan runs. And last night he showed some good vision. Helps when the OL does its job.

I hope DWA comes back next year. Could be a star.

Jennings basically blocking 3 players on that Murphy sweep for 50+? That was a perfect representation of his value to this team.

Kentucky’s offense isn’t great, but we made them look like trash. The way our defense is playing is beyond exciting. These guys haven’t been in the system for a full year, and Pruitt doesn’t have the type of players he wants yet. Still, we look really stout in D. We are still susceptible to being gashed up the middle at times, but I am loving the improvements I am seeing from the D as the season progresses.

If OL plays like they did last night over the final two games, we can go 7-5. Hope we get the Liberty Bowl. My dad can get free tickets.

Can’t wait for the basketvols to whip UK in similar fashion

Unless something has changed, Buchanan is a whole lot better against the run. Osborne struggles there and was one of the DB’s Pruitt was mad at for being timid on the blitzes in the past.

It’s always a great plan until it doesn’t work. Worst that happens in that Hail Mary is an interception. Playing with house money isn’t an advantage if you don’t play. Getting a fg would have been little to no impact...that TD finished off Kentucky...it’s just no one knew it yet.

Please allow me a moment to vent some frustration.

I was just on my motorbike, two lane highway with about 5 feet of road median on the side of the road. I'm at the front of the line at the stoplight, and take off at the appropriate time. I'm about 150 yards down the road, crossing a bridge, and this Benz comes barrelling up behind me. I'm in the slow lane, going over the speed limit already, as it's often safer to speed than to ride in the midst of traffic here when on the bike. This guy is all up on my wheel, with absolutely no one in the fast lane AT ALL, the prohibits him from changing lanes to pass... if he insists on going 30 MPH over the speed limit, as he was probably doing. I begin to ease over onto the median where motorbikes often ride, though we all have full rights to be in every single lane, and he immediately passes me, in my lane, while I am still in my lane.

This jerk was driving by me at 70 MPH, in my lane, 18 inches from me, with the fast lane completely open. Obviously, unsavory things arose in my heart, and I had to immediately pray for him. Just needed to throw it out to VN the get it off of my chest too.

The problem with the Hail Mary drive was the clock management. We went temp the first couple plays even a for a first down. Then we let like 30 seconds run off for no reason and it seemed like we were just going to take it to half.

If we incomplete that Hail Mary then Pruitt/Helton gets killed for the clock management on that drive.

I have no problem trying a Hail Mary Bc quite honestly one of the best plays in our offense has been a jumpball this year.
