Pruitt has been telling guys this will be his worst season here. He’s going to go 7-5, one win away from intern Jones’ ceiling. We’re going to compete for championships with this coaching staff fellas. And it will not take long, especially when he’s recruiting top 5-7 classes like he will in his first full recruiting class

Yep! I think we may be on the path Clemson took under Dabo. 6/7 years and we will be consistently elite. I’m enjoying the ride for sure. I was thinking the same thing about how Pruitt may get within 1 game of Butch’s ceiling in year 1. Impressive!

I think the only way a lot of people freak out is if we lose both of them. If we split and get to 6 wins and a bowl, I think most will be good with that. Some will freak out regardless though.

I think the only way losing the last two hurts us, is with recruiting... we are getting high level kid's attention right now and we have a lot of positive momentum with them, but my fear is if we whiff the last two, the interest in us will diminish..

-one upset win

Finally getting to watch the game. Will Ignont seems to be a sure tackler.

I think with the coaching we have, Ignont has a breakout year next season. He has all the measurables and is very quick off the snap. He just needs to learn the game. He will be good for us.

The problem with the Hail Mary drive was the clock management. We went temp the first couple plays even a for a first down. Then we let like 30 seconds run off for no reason and it seemed like we were just going to take it to half.

If we incomplete that Hail Mary then Pruitt/Helton gets killed for the clock management on that drive.

I have no problem trying a Hail Mary Bc quite honestly one of the best plays in our offense has been a jumpball this year.

The first bolded sentence is not. On first down JG attempted a quick screen to JJ, which was over his head and incomplete, which watching CJP on the sideline, pizzed him off as he immediately went after Helton (CJP later said in the post game presser he was upset at the play because it stopped the clock because he just wanted the clock to run out). 2nd down was a handoff up the middle for 2-3 yds with the clock running, then on 3rd and long, Chandler ran up the middle again but it was about a 17 yd run out to the 43 yd line with 13 seconds left, and it was then that CJP decided to see if they could steal some points.

I understand Bruin's point after the throw to Callaway at the UK 39 with 6 seconds, to maybe try and get one more quick throw in 4-5 seconds to get in FG range, but it would be cutting it close and you would hate to not get any shot at points there after working yourself into position, and I think the staff agreed with your last bolded point, that they trust those big, aggressive receivers to win jump ball situations.

We could not stop the run to save our lives the last two years. If the previous administration was still here, KY would have gashed us for 300 yards rushing last night. Pruitts defense in year 1 shut them down and held them to less than 80 yards rushing.

Our defense also were gashed in the passing game the last two seasons. Pruitt has brought in 2 freshmen who have never played corner before, and has turned them into freshmen all sec quality players.

This is great coaching

Just think what happens when he lands a true 5-star corner and has him for 3 years to develop. Our secondary will be lights out.

How about Osborne also? Was completely forgotten about under the intern. Pruitt has him replace Thompson after the injury last night and he played outstanding. 2 ints and multiple break ups. We haven’t seen this kind of coaching at TN in over a decade.

It's damn good to have competent coaching seemingly across the board right now. There are some valid complaints with this staff, sure, but we need to hope that Pruitt can keep the band together for at least 4 seasons.

CJP said in his presser he was upset that the incomplete pass stopped the clock. He said since UT was getting the 2nd half kickoff he wanted to run the clock out to ensure nothing happened to give UK any momentum, so must have been expecting a running play.

Please allow me a moment to vent some frustration.

I was just on my motorbike, two lane highway with about 5 feet of road median on the side of the road. I'm at the front of the line at the stoplight, and take off at the appropriate time. I'm about 150 yards down the road, crossing a bridge, and this Benz comes barrelling up behind me. I'm in the slow lane, going over the speed limit already, as it's often safer to speed than to ride in the midst of traffic here when on the bike. This guy is all up on my wheel, with absolutely no one in the fast lane AT ALL, the prohibits him from changing lanes to pass... if he insists on going 30 MPH over the speed limit, as he was probably doing. I begin to ease over onto the median where motorbikes often ride, though we all have full rights to be in every single lane, and he immediately passes me, in my lane, while I am still in my lane.

This jerk was driving by me at 70 MPH, in my lane, 18 inches from me, with the fast lane completely open. Obviously, unsavory things arose in my heart, and I had to immediately pray for him. Just needed to throw it out to VN the get it off of my chest too.

Also worth noting he wasn’t playing Buchanan’s position.. little different skill set at nickel

Although I remember Pruitt saying all these guys are cross training at all secondary positions
