Kirby is probably in the upper tier but to win a national championship you have to be elite and I haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s in that conversation.
He was able to get the best out of a program that was stagnant under Richt and he deserves credit for it. But going forward we should not see the Georgia game as “unwinnable.”
How did he handle it? I missed that. Just knew he changed his mind.In all fairness, as Lyle went down flipping and flopping like a boated crappie, I dont blame Mays for looking elsewhere. Tennessee was a hot mess last year into the early signing day.
What he will likely regret as he grows and matures is the immature way he handled the flip to Next Year University (aka UGA) But we all acted like jackasses when we were younger. So cut the kid a break and let's move on.
Maybe. I think what made them elite last year was Roquan, Chubb and Michel. He didn’t sign those players. He inherited them.Woudnt being one play away from winning that national title be what you are looking for?

I’m not saying he can’t get those kinds of players in the future. They’ve proven to be excellent recruiters.
I guess my larger point is that he (and that program) don’t scare me the way they once did. They might be 95% Alabama East. And that team is beatable.
I'm impressed with Pruitt's game management so far. Should only get better.Pruitt did what most every coach in America would do up 10-0 getting ball to start 2nd half. He took a timeout to get ball back. Then you see what happens on first down and it was near disaster that was an split second away from 10-7 and all momentum lost. So he then said screw this get to halftime. Then chandler pops big run and he changes decision and calls timeout and said get points now. He played it the way it should have been played.
Even at his size Chandler runs a lot of fools over. I think Josh Allen was starting to run away from him at the end of the game.
Georgia will be a problem for the foreseeable future
Ain’t nothing to be scared of but they’re a heavyweight.
I disagree on Kirby. Jury's still out as far as him being national title caliber, but he's already won a conference title, he's won the east two years in a row, and they're about to have another 11-1 regular season. They've also been recruiting on Alabama levels for three years now.*whispers*
Kirby really isn’t that good. Richt just left him with a loaded roster.
UGA's biggest advantage is recruiting. They will always get the best players in the hot recruiting areas in Georgia and especially Atlanta. I do think from a coaching standpoint we are a little better or at the very least even.

He made the sand wedge celebration.I was at the game and the fourth down in Kentucky's territory where we punted and downed it on the 3 yard line, it looked from where I was sitting as though Pruitt was chewing the punter out. It was a perfectly executed punt, so I'm at a loss. The only thing I can think of is maybe the punter was given a green light to fake it if conditions were right and the punter chose not to? Or maybe Pruitt's words of encouragement resemble butt chewing? I don't know. Did anyone else notice this?
