Georgia is the best recruiting job in the country imo

No real in state competition

Yeah, Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech is such a gift for them. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good football coach. But he isn't going to challenge Georgia for top tier in-state talent.

I also think it's bad for us that Taggart isn't doing well at Florida State. We need him and Richt to put pressure on UF in Florida recruiting.

“Kentucky type rebuild” 😂

Ha ha. I’m in the Kentucky camp. It’s not so much that I think the rebuild will look like Kentucky I just think we need the patience of Kentucky. My expectations are great for Pruitt, I just don’t think he will be where you all think he will be by years 4 and 5. I think there will be bumps along the way and I don’t plan to overreact and call for his head when they inevitably come. That’s all. I think we align probably around years 6 and 7 (which is when I think we can expect to be consistently elite again, like Clemson is today - it took them a while, let’s not forget).

Yeah its easy pickings for UGA in that state...with that offense that GT runs you're not gonna get any 4 or 5* recruits that wanna run that system.

I feel like next year will be the equivalent to Kirby Smarts first year at Georgia. Just with less talent.

Dabo went 8-4 and won his division in his first full season, 9-3 and won conference in year 3, year 4 went 11-2 and a top 10 finish, same thing in year 5. Not sure if that’s the best example. Everyone on here would love that and far from Kentucky type patience imo

Tennessee and Kentucky are on different planes with respect to rebuilds. Stoops’s “process” appears to be to stack the chips for one run every 3-4 years, and then start rebuilding again. This is great for a school like Kentucky, or Iowa (which disappears for threeish years under Ferentz, then has a year where they are in the national conversation, rinse, repeat). At Tennessee, you have to get to the point where the tired cliche “reload instead of rebuild” applies. You appear to buy into that aspect, but for better or worse, this will never get a coach 6 or 7 years to show what he can do here.

Don't feel good about our chances in an shootout. Plays into their hands.

Defensive, low scoring game is in our favor.

Turnovers, 3rd down defense stops, and 1st down positive plays on O, and ST will be critical for us esp with our style of play.
I was with you but then I see the progression of our offense against SEC opponents (starting the 2nd half against GA).

Missouri's defense is not nearly as good as Auburn, UGA. Bama or Kentucky. They are statistically worse than USC.

The kid seems close to finally turning the corner, but he's not there yet. Until he can go without false starting and being put on his rear, he is still going to be under performing in most people's eyes.
I don't have issues with the holding calls. Sometime you have to to save your QB's life. But the whiffing on assignments and false starts kill me. It's all mental with him. Getting better but needs another year to put it all together.

Someone posted this on VQ and I think it's worth sharing here. But if Pruitt wins the next two, he will have matched what Kirby did in his first season at GA. Kirby inherited a top 5 roster in the country and only won 7 games. His schedule was also easier than Pruitt's was this year. He didn't play a playoff contending WVU team that year, but North Carolina to open the season. He also didn't play Bama. His most impressive win was against Auburn that year, but he also nearly lost to Nicholls state and he lost to a horrible Vandy team at home, on homecoming.

Pruitt inherited a terrible roster and the talent that was on this roster had not been developed either with S&C or with actual football coaching, and he is going to take that roster to the same first year record as Kirby took GA if he wins out. Folks, that is impressive. I'm all in with Pruitt. I think we have the guy. If he signs the recruiting class it looks like he will sign, we ain't looking back, and those of you who laughed at me when I said we'd be competing in 2020, we'll see who is laughing when that season gets here.

I was at the game and the fourth down in Kentucky's territory where we punted and downed it on the 3 yard line, it looked from where I was sitting as though Pruitt was chewing the punter out. It was a perfectly executed punt, so I'm at a loss. The only thing I can think of is maybe the punter was given a green light to fake it if conditions were right and the punter chose not to? Or maybe Pruitt's words of encouragement resemble butt chewing? I don't know. Did anyone else notice this?

I saw it and thought it was strange
